Obsessions

Because of a "crime" story I've been following since Jan 2024 (documented in a podcast called "Love Trapped", I've become friends with some of the content creators that talk about it on their YouTube live streams. One of them has now started streaming games he is playing. His first game streamed was Blue Prince. Then he streamed one called The Roottrees Are Dead which is a genealogical puzzle game. He streamed it on Thursday night. I signed up for Steam, bought and downloaded the game on Friday and finished it by Saturday night! He still hasn't finished it (because he doesn't quite get the genealogy of it and reads through stuff too quickly which leads to him overlooking clues that will move him forward but I digress). I found a YouTube channel that was also streaming Blue Prince so watched it for awhile. I decided to buy it and play it for myself. Because of watching those videos, more game streaming is showing up for me on YouTube. One was called "Librarian Tidy Up The Arcane Library". It was on sale (just released end of April) so I bought it and now I'm obsessed.
I love blue prince! Played it when it released and I was obsessed too! I have a filled notebook at my desk still with clues and what not :lol

My youngest keeps trying to get me to play games like these, says I'd love them. Sounds like you've found a fun pasttime! I might have to give it a try!

I have some handwritten notes but ended up using OneNote and setting a notebook up for it. That thing has so many different pages but it makes it easier to find info if needed. I'm taking my time playing through it and that suits me just fine.

I've been watching some YouTube videos of people playing "cozy" games. Those seem to be my type of game. Got a few more on my Steam wish list to play in the future.

I have played Township for over seven years (city-building/farming/mini games)...it keeps me coming back and I even pay to play sometimes. Sad. LOL
I played Township right after I retired then my iPad died. I replaced it with a cheaper tablet that has lasted longer than the iPad. I did try Township again last year and found that I was spending too much money and too much time on it. I quit at the end of December. It was no longer the fun game I played back in 2017. I got tied of the match 3 tasks. And I was sick after Christmas and didn't even pick up the tablet for 7 days and that cured me of Township as I was getting bored with it. I started back with Happy Color after that and other than the 1 time payment to get rid of ads, it hasn't cost me anything and I don't want to spend all day on the tablet. It will be a nice diversion on the bus/airplane for my vacations this year when I don't want to read (have Kindle app on the tablet).

I took several months off, and I agree...the match 3 gets boring. They used to have such fun mini games...challenging, though. Like the one that you had to spin the shelves so the dropping ball wouldn't land in a bad spot. Actually, that game made me really anxious. LOL I was mad when they got rid of our zoos. I worked really hard on that thing! And I loved when there would be decorating adventures. Oh well. It's my mindless distraction needed at times. I'm in a co-op that is low effort...no one cares if we do well or not.

*sigh* I obsess about stuff all the time, and then get distracted by a new obsession and forget all about the first one.
Currently I am obsessing about setting up my craft room and getting it how I like it. My youngest has moved out and I have taken over her old room :giggle:giggle.
In about an hour I will remember I have a mostly finished blanket I am crocheting and then I will go obsess over that for a while until my hands get sore or I get hungry :rofl. My nursey DD says I hyperfixate but obsession sounds more fun .

Dang, that meme gets around!

My obsession is always photography, but the latest obsession is landscape photography. I'll have lots of opportunities on our trip for sunset photography. I'll have lots of time to get used to setting up my tripod and using filters which I've not used much.

I'm packed and ready to go!!!
