November is a month of food around here. Thanksgiving, but also baking, pretty squash, and apples. Cookies, bread, all sorts of goodies are on deck in November! The photography challenge for November is food. It doesn't have to be homemade food. It can be any food you'd like. Because this is a photography challenge, please use a new photo. Here's some tips: Lighting: Use natural light when possible. But try artificial light, especially if it's dark outside. Watch out for dark shadow cast on the food. Experiment with angles: Try flat lay, or side view, or an angle. See what looks the best. Check the background: I have a dark table and white counter tops. Some food look better on the dark background, some on the white. Try a work in progress photo. Maybe the squash before you cook it is prettier than the finished soup. Enjoy yourself! Your food option is your choice. Feel free to scrap dinner, a restaurant meal, a recipe, or whatever food story you have this month. I choose to snap a photo of a guilty pleasure of mine - Cheesy fries! Since it was at a restaurant, I used artificial light. The ranch cup wasn't pretty, so I cropped it out of the photo. I look forward to seeing all the wonderful food this month! Challenge Reminders: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Post your layout here so I can love on it! Your page should also be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the November Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad. The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
Both my girls are currently working at Starbucks, so we do alot of coffee and now it's the holiday season, they have all the cool stuff, like chocolate shavings. We went there the other day to have lunch with one of them and I got some chocolate shavings to put on my black & white mocha. Yum!
perfect timing, I took a photo of this cake we baked yesterday and didn't read the photography challenge before doing it, just today!! yaaay!!
Completely unrepentant, our heroine breaks through the top of the ice cream container to obtain her sweet prize.
