I'm going for a girls weekend to New Orleans in about 6 weeks!:happydance2 I know we need reservations at most places, so hit me up with your favorite NOLA eats!

Thanks!:flirty

ooooh my favorite place for food!

Cafe Dumond: http://www.cafedumonde.com/ is a must for beignets and cafe au lait

my favorite pralines are from Southern Candy Makers on Decatur Street.

I can remember the restaurant we ate at last time, but it was fabulous, right off Bourbon Street. If it comes to me, I will let you know.

Honestly, every place we ever ate at was really good in NO!

If you are in Uptown then Camilla Grill is a lot of fun for breakfast or lunch. They have some of the best omlets and other diner eats! And if you are in the mood for the most excellent pizza, I recommend Mama Rosa's Slice of Italy in the quarter. A fun way to start the day is to go to PJ's coffee. They are all over and some of them have pretty little courtyards that you can sit outside and have coffee and a pastry.

You all are going to have a ball. Enjoy!

Cool! Thanks!

Cafe du Mond is on the top of my list! The last time I was in NO, I practically lived there (that was 12 years ago).

I had heard of Irene's, but I've heard the wait there is awful. Is it worth the wait?

Claire, thanks for the breakfast/lunch suggestion. I had not even thought about those meals :D

Anyone else have suggestions?

Mmmm....I love their Turtle Soup! Divine!

We had Brennan's here in Houston, but it burned down during Hurricane Ike. :cry

We didn't have to wait when we went to Irene's. But it was good, would I wait an hour?? probably not.

Brennan's is good for brunch but it is really expensive and an INSANE amount of food. Should keep you full till dinner.

Here are some suggestions from a local friend of ours...

- K-Paul's <http://www.kpauls.com/site.php>

- Muriel's <http://www.muriels.com/html/home.html> (looks fancy on website but not stuffy)

- Tujaque's <http://www.tujaguesrestaurant.com/>

- Irene's Cuisine <http://neworleans.citysearch.com/profile/4428854/new_orleans_la/irene_s_cuisine.html>

- Maspero's <http://www.pierremasperosrestaurant.com/> (low key)

- Felix's <http://www.felixs.com/> (low key oyster bar)

Ooh Cafe du Mond for sure. I second (or third) Brennan's. Also, it's a bit pricey, but it's seriously some of the best food I've ever eaten: Emeril's Delmonico; his restaurant NOLA is also quite good.
