It's the last day of May! June starts tomorrow! Here, we are beginning birthday season. My daughter turned 25 a couple of days ago, and my two boys both have birthdays in June (3rd and 21st, they will be 29 and 15). It feels like I spend the month of June (and the days leading up to) planning and preparing for birthdays, and throw Father's Day in there. My oldest is still overseas, so his party will be a virtual one and I'm not sure what the almost 15 year old will want to do. With things the way they are, we don't have much else planned at the moment besides my hair appt on Tuesday. :giggle We are hoping to do some hiking and biking and walking.

So do any of you have plans for the new month? Anything exciting coming up?

I'm hoping to just enjoy all this time with my kids for June before the normal everyday starts to come back. We don't have anything planned, we'll just wing it! lol Normally they are in their summer intensives for either dance or theater but that will be down for the month of June until who knows... They are done with this school year on June 5th and have a but if last minute stuff to get finished before that date. So they have had their face in the books (or laptops). I absolutely love having this time with them! <3

May was the worst of the 3 months of quarantine for me, so I'm welcoming June and a new fresh month with open arms.

Daniel just finished his last assignment with virtual learning on Friday - thank the heavens above because he was driving me crazy. Talk about DISTRACTED. Yikes! It was exhausting training him to stay focused. By the end of it, I was ready to string him up by his toenails. LOL I feel like he got marginally better about things, but only JUST. I pray that the 2020-2021 school year is NOT virtual, but I fear that it will be. He's officially a sophomore now. Anyway, we are starting June off with FREEDOM from school, which I have to tell you is a HUGE relief. I actually feel a surge of creativity having that burden off my shoulders. I'm with @meganmecrazy that I enjoy having him at home, but it's usually much nicer when we're not at odds fighting over school. Olivia is also still at home and she's still considered laid off. I don't know when she'll be returning to work and/or considering moving out. I think it will be a long time with the way things are in the world right now but that's cool because I enjoy her company. That has been one comforting thing in all this . . . how our family unit of four has faced difficulties and we are drawing closer to one another. I thank God for that!

I have a follow up with my pain management specialist tomorrow, and Daniel has his yearly physical at the end of the month. I may end up having to take my mom for further treatment (she is having fluid retention from end-stage non-alcoholic cirrhosis) or to her follow up appointments. Also, my sis-in-law Theresa is just starting her battle with kidney cancer (after being dx on Easter Sunday), so I will either be keeping my great-niece so my niece can go with Theresa or I'll be giving my niece a break and taking my sis-in-law to her appointments. As luck would have it, my SIL's hubby had to have rotator cuff surgery, so they are both recovering from surgery. Theresa's is the more in depth as she had her kidney and spleen removed. I'm hoping that the appointments will be spaced out, because I have to tell you that May just seemed like one medical visit after another.

I plan to get my hair done this month and I will start getting my manicures and pedicures again this month as well. At this point, I've been in two different hospitals and other medical offices where it is more likely that I was exposed to the virus than at my stylist's home (she has very few clients these days).

I would love to have a visit to the beach as well as our local creeks and rivers, but we'll see how that works out.

I ditched my planner for May and I plan on starting June off using it again. May was just a blur without having some kind of structure from the planner.

@IntenseMagic How much longer before your son returns stateside? My brother is currently at home in Georgia, but it's about time for him to deploy again. I haven't talked to him recently to find out what the future holds for him. It always makes me nervous though. Sending you ((HUGS))

June 5 - My birthday. I will be having one of those milestone ones.
June 6 - I start physical therapy for my shoulder. Finally went to the doctor. Cortisone helped a whole lot. After months of pain I am looking forward to it healing.
June 8 - Our son and wife have first wedding anniversary
June 11 - Husband and I celebrate 37 years of marriage

Then after that it is just summer time. The daughter just got a babysitting job for the month of June. She has sat for them before a couple of summers ago. Now both dad and mom are trying to work at home, along with a 3.5 year old and a 8 year old. So they are opening their "bubble" to include her. Time to break out the shaved ice machine!

Daughter is talking about going camping but it gets sooo humid here, I think we need to wait to this fall.

We have no plans so far for June. I'm hoping by July that things will be back to some kind of normal. We have July birthdays and we're all hoping to get together to do something for 4th of July. I know, I'm skipping a month. Haha

@Cherylndesigns Wow. You have quite a lot of challenges you are dealing with. I love that you still look to other things, like your mention of nature outings. An inspiration!
June: Hmmmmm. Well, we have only been waiting 5 months to make our contract negotiation trip to Nashville. As of Friday, we were slated to go up on Tuesday for the week. And then the rioting began and spread. Now the city we plan/hope to relocate to just announced a curfew and emergency order, so who knows??? We are supposed to search for a home on this trip, and the details following would fill the month. Only God knows if we will get to go now. If we do, the Pad will hear about it! LOL!
@BevG - what kind of shoulder issue do you have? Im curious cos my right shoulder is a real problem.

:bkThanks, Amanda. I hope you get to go to Nashville soon. Things are SO crazy now! We've hardly begun to deal with reopening and now this. Thinking of you in your relocation. I'm so happy we have each other here.

Thanks, @Cherylndesigns ! Hubster and I have had five years of major issues- really hope we can move forward in a new season. Kids still haven't come around, but we have had to let that be in God's hands. WE need to do this move. :)

Yes, you certainly do need to move on. I'm just saddened by the kids' actions, Amanda. Just put it in God's hands - that's all you can do.

We just found out a few days ago that my son's wedding for June 26th is definitely on! The number of guests has been greatly reduced with most of my family scattered across the US not able to attend. But, even though we'll still be taking precautions, we will celebrate! For many years, my son thought he was destined to spend his life alone so we are filled with joy that he found the one woman for him.

We have exactly nothing planned for June and can I just say that I'm not mad about it? Sometimes I feel like I count down to summer to finally get a break from the fast paced over-scheduled school year and then all my weekend fill up with "stuff" and I don't end up with much of a break. I love having a weekend with nothing to do but whatever I feel like with my family on a whim! My hubby does have a week long fishing trip coming up next week, and then I can sit around a scrapbook in the evenings without feeling guilty for ignoring him either! :giggle

Jan... you sure do have birthday season! Ours in in March/April. Everyone in my family has a spring birthday except for me. :giggle

School restarted again today, after the 1/2 term 1 week break. Distance learning still for my children. Term ends towards the end of July.

Only plans here are to get a pedicure (!!!!) and a hair trim maybe the end of this month, deal with Grandaughter's braces tri-monthly check up, finally! take bags and boxes of books to a charity that takes books as I slowly clean out my wall of books. Then it's time to start working on my office. That is my biggest challenge and desire.

June 15 I will also take over all our finances as trying to figure out dh's method is impossible when he endlessly mansplains in l o n g explanations of how he does it. I am not allowed to ask questions while he's mansplaining so by the time he's done, I have lost track of the whole thread. I'm all on board with this as I do have various lists he did when he was diagnosed with the cancer. But seeing it all on line and probably with Quicken will be great. It's just the man/explaining so say prayers for me that I don't get so frustrated that I start crying. fwiw, I did all our finances in my 20+ yr first marriage and for my own finances for the 15 years before I remarried. I know what I'm doing, I just don't do it his way...

We are planning on visiting family this month. It's weird because we are going from a stricter state to a loose one. Not by much, just things like 50 vs 100 people. But, if the casinos can open, I can visit my family!

Other than that, I've still got school and Nick work. Munchkin finished his 3rd grade work last month, but I've still had him doing some math and spelling, and we'll continue that in June. I like him having a little routine to our days.

I'm still working from home, there still aren't any camps, etc., and we still can't go to church so our life is much the same, with a bit more outside time, as it has been since March.

The only difference at the moment is seeing my parents for small chunks of mostly outdoor time. My son is going over there on Friday afternoons to help my mom garden, and it's been good for him, her, and my daughter (who gets an afternoon "off" from playing with him -- ha!)

So far, it looks like we might be able to go strawberry picking & go to the splashpad this month so there's a little to look forward to but most of the summer will be much different and much quieter than usual & that is pretty depressing.

I feel the same! I hope to get to enjoy some time with nothing going on. School for me and him has been so crazy the last couple of months and I could just use some time to decompress. Enjoy!!!

I think most of my kids gave up about halfway through May. I was still plugging along, but only hearing from about 1/3 of them. This is why I hope it doesn't continue in to next school year! And yes, so looking forward to just enjoying the time we have to be at home.
I'm sending lots of prayers for your family and all they are going through!!
Nothing like fresh highlights, right! And I will get my nails done soon!!
We are also hoping to get to the beach a time or two. I'm fine to be quarantined there for a couple of weeks haha.
I also ditched my planner in May, but I'm picking it up again today!!
We are kind of clueless on when Aaron will get to come home at this point. It was supposed to be July or August at one point, but travel restrictions and other things have them pushed back, so it may be September or later. My daughter is getting married October 10, so I just hope he makes it back before then. Even sooner would be awesome!!

Honestly, I'm kind of hoping for a no plans kind of June! It would be super nice to just relax and play it by ear.
