My computer broke last week and I went to just browse this evening and came home with a new iMac. I am in love. This is coming from the girl who told everyone that would listen just how much I hated mac. I bought a macbook about 7 years ago and after about a week of trying to figure it out I took it back and started my campaign against them. They have come a long way. I can't believe how user friendly it is. I literally got it set up and running in about 10 minutes.I actually went looking for a new pc and then this baby caught my eye. I figured I would try it out since we have other apple products that we've been using for years (iPads, now iPhone). It was so easy and I was sold. I love how it will all flow now with our iPads, iphones etc...

The one thing I am not excited about is having to get new software. I was already due for a photoshop update but I'll have to buy Lightroom again now.

Just wanted to share my excitement with people that would understand.
 
wahooooo!!!! you will LOVE it. i was one who swore i would never use anything but a PC... now i will never use anything but a Mac! :) enjoy your new toy.
 
Amanda, you should not have to buy Lightroom again. Check your box but it should be good for Mac and PC.
 
Just checked it and it is for Wind/Mac so yay. One less thing to buy. Thanks again, Carolee.

I was in the "WE ALL HATE MAC" wagon and then hubby FORCED (yep, he took my pc away and plugged this thing) an iMAC on me... and I can't even imagine not having an iMAC now. LOL!!!! So totally understand you.... and Amanda, I didn't want a mac because I used to do homework on macs at school 17+ years ago and I hated them... let's start by ONE BUTTON MOUSE... ok, enough has been said.
 
Man I love my Mac! Seriously love it. Mt husband says he hates it but yet he's always on it. Hmmmmmm.
 
Hurray! So glad you were able to get a new computer. I tried a Mac 3-4 years ago and just couldn't get into it, but I know so many people love them. I'm just glad you have A computer to scrap with!
 
Have fun Amanda! There are always some growing pains at first but you will really love it I'm sure! The best thing about my Mac has been the stability of the operating system and the hardware. I haven't had many issues compared to what I had with my old PCs. If you live near an Apple store they really take care of you.
 
Thanks everyone. So far the transition has been so easy. I played with it for like 20 minutes in the store though and found my way around it. That was the reason I hated my macbook that I got about 7 years ago. At that time I had never used any Apple products whatsoever and I could not for the life of me figure out where everything was. It was soooo different than my pc. Since then though we have had iPads for years and now iphones as of this year so I think after using the the Apple system on the ipads it helped with the transition because it is set up so much like them in ways. I have not tried using Photoshop on it but hope it won't be a big learning curve from the way it works on a pc.

I do live by an Apple store but I actually bought mine through Best Buy. I know some people have horror stories with them but I have made lots of "big" purchases through them and it's always been good. I got a 3 year extended warranty that covers everything but flood and theft and can be renewed every 3 years for however long i have the computer so hope I never need it but nice it's there. They were awesome with the sale though because I explained to them about my husband being a teacher and they price matched what the Apple store listed for their educator discount. They didn't even ask that my husband come in they just did the price match, which was awesome. They also offer the 18 months interest free financing so I was able to purchase the 27" and it blows me away how stunning and beautiful and BIG this screen is. I am so in love!! It's the most amazing computer I have ever had. Hope I don't have problems with it because I honestly never had many problems with my pc's. The only reason my last one died was due to a big fault of my own.

I am still bummed because I don't have a photoshop on it yet so I am unable to scrap right now but hopefully soon.
