I am going on my 4th year with the bullet journaling system. I am hooked. I love the versatility and rely on my Leuchttrum Hardcover Med A5 Squared Notebook! After 3 years of red, I went with Emerald! It is teal in my eyes, and I adore it! To celebrate I got some new (thank you @Scrapping with Liz for my addiction) washi tapes. I spent some time on pinterest(no I will not tell you how long) bhahwhaha and found my weekly layout spread idea! January 2019 is done and waiting for me. I am carrying both books at the present for the cross over time. Are you getting excited about 2019 and your calendar? Or do you use something different to help you organize your life?
That's gorgeous, Anne and I love all of that washi tape! The book color is delicious! I just, this past few months, got into the Travel Notebook for journaling, etc. I don't carry it with me, however. I still use an old fashioned calendar that I keep in my desk drawer, but mostly, I rely on my iPhone. I set up a family calendar and hubby and I are each responsible for putting everything on there. It took awhile to get him trained, but he's a devout user now. I honestly put everything that I have to remember on my phone. I'd forget things like chats if I didn't get reminders about them.
So pretty! I am a Happy Planner girl and I use Cozi for my online family calendar. My hardcopy planner sits on my counter and I scribble on it to update as the week goes by. The Cozi one is so family members have access (hubby has finally started to look at it) and my kids really use it. My planner is mostly decorated for the coming 6 months, then I am getting a new 2019-2020 Happy Planner.
I'm finally getting quite good at using my digital calendar. I just use the Apple one. After using it for a while, I researched others because I can think of ways it could be better, but ended up sticking with the Apple one for now. I also use the Apple Reminder app a lot. And I inconsistently use Apple Notes and Evernote. I love the conveniences of a digital calendar, especially the ease of adding recurring events and sharing calendars with other people. My biggest struggle was remembering to LOOK at my digital calendar. Seriously, it took over 6 months to get into the habit, and couple of times I considered switching back to the fabulous desk calendar I used for the previous 7 years. August to August Calendar Organizer I felt kind of bad about abandoning the company because I took years to find this perfect desk calendar and was loyal to them for nearly a decade. It seemed so much easier at first to just glance over at the open paper calendar on my desk to see what's going on (assuming I was home!). But everything else about planning and organizing is easier with the digital calendar and reminder app. And now I'm in a habit of checking the calendar on my phone or computer every night and morning and whenever other times I need to, and I can do that anywhere; I don't have to be near my desk.
I love washi tape! I'm so glad I was a paper scrapper when it first came out! I was able to do some washi tape swaps and get a fabulous collection started!
Um, I bought a new planner in September or October. But I don't remember which one it is! DH set it aside to give to me for Christmas because munchkin picked out the cover and such. I only remember showing them which of 3 or 4 was okay. So, I'll be surprised on Christmas! I do know I picked one out that has the calendar in it because bullet journal style does not work for me for tracking school things and homeschool activities. I do also use Google Calendar with DH. I like it because I put the events on it for us and we can see at a glance each others schedule and munchkins. Plus, my meal planner site connects to it and shows what's for dinner. But DH doesn't need to see all my school stuff or house stuff or library day so that I prefer in my paper planner. It sounds complicated, but it really boils down to events that others expect us to participate in - google calendar. Everything else - paper.
I started going back to my FiloFax when the planner thing started here (2015?) but haven't done much since 2016... I need to start something to make our weekly menus, so I may investigate a nice way to do it, but I need to make my printer work
It's only my fave time of the year! I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting my new planner and filling it in with beautiful new pens! Mine has awesome pineapples on it!
Gosh, I'm glad you posted this because I keep putting off buying my planner for the new year and I really need to do that. I've used a Happy Planner for the last 2 years and will probably go with that one again. I use the teacher one at work as well, and I have a mini in my purse. This year I went with the horizontal layout because I thought I would write more and have more of a memory planner, but I haven't liked it as much as I thought I would, so I think I will go back to the vertical.
Love it Anne! I am thinking about doing a bullet journal. I tend to buy loads of planners and end up collecting them instead of using them. I have been creating stamps for Catherine Pooler's new Canvo (bullet journal system) and I think I want to buy hers haha. She uses thicker paper so you can get super artsy without it bleeding through etc. And yes, give me all of the washi haha.
I need a better calendar/planner since I missed my granddaughter's band concert tonight because my phone didn't remind me.
Oh no! This is one of my fears with just relying on digital calenders & devices - I hope she isn't upset! Maybe u can have a private encore solo performance - not the same I know No idea what next year's wall calendar will be, usually one of the kids chooses it, my only real rule is 'no food' - I can't do those 12mths of food porn calendars hanging in the kitchen! I'd just be all the time but my planner-ing just involves my wall calendar & post it notes stuck to my phone
I rely heavily on my Google calendar on my phone. I have all the things in there. I love it because each of us in the family has a Google calendar and they are all linked so I can add my kids' sports practices and games in there and under their own calendars. Then when the Grama's want to go to a game they have all the information right there because we've shared the calendars with them too. I even put the addresses in there so all they have to do is click on it and up pops a map. I also have been going back and adding the scores for the games after the fact which is awesome when I go back to scrap a season and I can remember how many wins and losses they had, plus I'll make a note if one of them scored or did something memorable. I also use it for recurring events and definitely to keep track of my chats and things here too... WITH reminders.
I want to bullet journal so bad but I'm afraid to mess it up! I have the emerald and have for a while but chickened out and bought a target planner.
