Welcome to this month's Technique Challenge, where we'll be creating beautiful artworks in the style of Nicole's apple layout (see below). She very kindly made a video tutorial showing us how she made the apple. You can find it HERE.

So in a nutshell, your task is to
Create A Sketched Outline and Fill it with Styles, Brushes etc.
No photos allowed on the page.

You will find Nicole's Apple Tutorial HERE
Just holler if you need help with anything.

    My Steps
    1. I chose a suitable image and on a new layer, traced over it to get the outlines using Autumn Whisper PT Paintingbrushes (pencil and ink) https://the-lilypad.com/store/Autumn-Whisper-option.html
    2. I then used brushes, styles & ABP from Sandy Beaches https://the-lilypad.com/store/Sandy-Beaches-choose-from-different-Options.html to fill inside the outlines. You can have so much fun with this part of the process. Mask out areas you don't want, duplicate layers, play with blend modes, move things up and and down the layer stack - whatever takes your fancy. And you don't have to stay inside the lines either, if you prefer a more organic look.

Here are some examples from the CT. Firstly from Danesa using NBK-Design's Sandy Beaches & Re-invent.

From Cindy using Sandy Beaches and the ink brush from Autumn whisper PT Paintingbrushes
    [IMG]

And from Clin D'oeil using Autumn Whisper and Sandy Beach.

I Was Just Messing Around In My Scrapbooking Program & Came Up With This Layout Using NBK Designs Product...Is This Appropriate For This Challenge?...Just Wondering Your Thoughts?...I Can't Say That I Really Have Ever Done Anything Like This Before...Thanks In Advance...

@Oldenmeade...Since You Gave Me Such Positive Feedback On This Layout...I'm Gonna Go Ahead & Post This In The Gallery!...Thank You! So Much For The Encouragement & Positivity!...:yup

*I Certainly Am Not An Artist & I Can't Draw Worth #@%...I Found This Very Difficult To Do...That's Why The Hesitation...I Wasn't Sure About It At All...I Am Not One To Choose Something Easy Either...I Do Like To Challenge Myself Either Way...Even If I Mess Up...So I Used A Composite Design Photo That I Found Online & Sketched A Similar Line Around & Went From There...

To Create My Bloom With Love Layout-I Used:

If you sketched the outline and used brushes and styles or ABP, then it's appropriate :). The purpose of the challenge is to get you experimenting with using the brush tool to draw. It looks amazing btw!!!

I've never tried to draw a shape and fill it in before. I went with a freeform shape.

Well I gave it a try. Drawing with a mouse is somewhat shaky but I'll just call it freeform. Since I love fall I chose a leaf to work with. Fun playing.
