NBK-Design's Simple Challenge - April 1 - 30 - CLOSED

Howdy and a Merry April to you all! I am Patty Anne (justPattyAnne) and I have the fun time to host this month's Simple Challenge. This offers a chance for a quick and easy challenge that doesn't require a lot of extra techniques or complicated software.

RULES: This challenge runs from April 1 to April 30, 2020.

TWO lucky scrappers will be randomly chosen to win a $5 coupon to the NBK-Design store. You must use 100% of NBK-Design Products and the layout must contain a color pallet of Black and White plus 1 Color. Post your layout in the NBK-Design Gallery and in this forum, and link your layout to the gallery.

I love how dynamic a B&W layout or image is when it has the pop of one color added - whether a bright primary color or a pale shade, it's always so striking when set against the black & white.
So, my challenge is to create a layout that has a color pallet of Black & White Plus 1 Color.​

I've used purple for my added color in this image of my daughter.


I had a romp through several of Nicole's "Art Crush" collections for my layout:
Art Crush No.24 (background, confetti, doodles, tag and styles).

Art Crush No.20 Things (butterfly on a string) & Artsy Bits & Pieces (watercolor stain).

Art Crush No. 2 (Mask, Magic Lights, Sprinkles, Enamel Music notes, Painter's Toolbox).

@TrishD , your POP of yellow on that dapper fellow is so dynamic, I fully expect him to step right on out of that image. This is exactly the kind of image I had in mind when I thought of this challenge.

@SharLamb , the powder blue is perfection for your snowy image against that blue sky. I commented in the gallery, but let me say again what a brilliant touch the diagonal background is.

@Cherylndesigns , your gold flower & leaf still catch my eye everytime I'm scrolling. They convey comfort somehow, perfect for the joyous family photo.

@Janisn , I'm still blown away by your cleverness all the way through your page ... and that lightbulb...?!?! WOW! So very cool.

@flowersgal , It takes that beautiful bold yellow to be able to stand out against that marvelous photo! LOVE the joyous energy this exudes.

@Claire Grantham , you in your beautiful hot pink dress certainly does deserve a lovely setting and you've created it in this. I LOVE that you learned the selective coloring to pull it off. Way to go!

@sharonb , it warms my heart no end getting to see your grandbaby and daughter! Your mask with the frame to bring the attention in tighter is perfect.

@Eyeore , your cat looks almost like a fox in this photo ... and your soft brown has a metallic feel amid that black & white background.

@wvsandy , I can almost feel & smell the air with the moodiness of your page. SO beautiful (and I have that song stuck in my head now - an old fave!)
