Hi everyone. It is Marilyn here, and I'm delighted to host Nicole's June challenge. June, as many of you know, is the month of weddings. I, for one, got married in June, June 22 to be exact.
An interesting fact that isn't very romantic: People didn't bathe very often, many took their yearly bath in the spring and got married in June so they wouldn't smell so bad. It's a fun read, for sure.
I thought this challenge would be perfect to showcase wedding photos. And no, they don't have to be from your wedding. In addition to a wedding photo (or photos), add something white, something blue, and flowers. Of course, flowers!
Here is a sample layout I created. These are my parents, married in 1942. I love heritage photos and this was a candid shot that I scanned. My background paper is mainly white with blue undertones. I also used some white gesso and tulle. You can find more blue in the artsy bit behind the photo, the blue ribbon at the bottom of the frame and a few blue stars. The artsy bit contains some flowers as well as my single flower to the right of the narrow photo.
Summary of instructions to include on your page:
1. A minimum of one wedding photo, anyone's wedding
2. Something white
3. Something blue
4. Flowers
RULES
This challenge runs from June 1 to June 30.
TWO lucky scrappers will be randomly chosen to win a $5 coupon to the NBK Design store.
