ohh , I am looking forward.I have had a lot on ,and been away, so not been around much lately ( the longest I have been away since I joined ) but by January everything will be back to normal, my course will be finished the beg of Jan., no more "private" scrapbooks to finish, and uhmmm just cant wait !!!
I'm gonna give it a try this year and I just don't know how to prepare for this. I bought some stuff in the sale, I have a list of all the layouts I need to make to finish my 2015 album and all of my TLP products are organized on my laptop. But I have no idea if that's even going to be any help? Don't know what kind of challenges it will be? Also, question: do we have to finish the daily challenge that same day? Because if that's the case, I can already quit.
No you have the month to finish all the challenges. so for the day 1 challenge, you have all the month if you want. but for the last day challenge, only few hours
There are challenges to inspire. Some will be easy for you and others will be tormented. You will grow as a scrapper, in knowledge and abilities thru the challenges. Doing 31 pages in virtually 32 days is grueling, but oh oh so much fun. The comments in the gallery and forums are like energy to your creativity. I love seeing all the siggies too!!
I'm excited and hoping to finish this year. My husband broke his hip the middle of January last year and I am still recovering. Fingers crossed.
This is my first year here for this, but I'm going to do my best to keep up, regardless of how crazy work gets. Maybe it won't snow & I'll have plenty of time (what a dreamer I can be!!) Is there a particular theme, or anything to keep in mind while stocking up? Like, will we maybe want more alphas than we normally use, or flowery type elements, etc...?
Not really! I like to have an assortment of kits that go with my photos. I do like to make sure I have an alpha and a TLP font I'm loving on. I recall 2013 had an arty challenge, but brushes worked well for me for that. My prep tips are : *Know which kits you own that are current and in the store. I tag mine or stick the previews in a separate folder so I don't mess up! *have photos ready to go. No theme really, the challenges are usually open enough that any photo will work of you have a variety. The hardest one for me was finding an old photo because they were in a different place. *Relax. Let the prompts inspire you. Don't overthink it. Just go with it. *If the prompt is throwing you for the day, let it simmer in the back of your mind for a day or two. Do the next one, and come back to it. Above all, enjoy it! Just have fun, and enjoy the creative process. The best part of MOC is it gets me scrapping faster. I have to make decisions quickly, and move on to the next layout.
*off to buy new fonts* And the products you use need to be in the store right now? So no retired products from current designers eh?
This will be my first time and I dont even know what MOC is yet so I have a feeling I better prepare myself.
I had a blast last year and was shocked when I was able to finish! I'm hoping I can try again this year.
Last year was my first year, and I worked hard to complete it! DH helped me out there... I'll start warning him now! I was so proud of myself too, and the layouts I made!
MOC is always such an exciting part of the year. I'm so glad to hear that so many of you are looking forward to it. There is a lot of planning that goes on in the background to put it all together (Julie is amazing)!
Moc= month of challenges One challenge each day for all of January, and you have until the first day or two of February to get them all done. I've never done it, but hoping to! Those who complete get a $20 tlp gift card, and a chance at a permanent polly spot!
Does he have an older brother, lol?!! Seriously, what a great guy you've got there. He obviously gets you and your passion for scrapping!
