Hello Happy Scrappers! Welcome to the March Style Challenge. When I signed on for this one I knew that I wanted to try and tackle graphic style. However, it turned out to be more difficult than I thought to define exactly what that means. First I went to the dictionary. The New Oxford American Dictionary defines graphic as "of or relating to visual art" or "in the form of a graph" I know, extremely helpful! Wikipedia gave a little more insight describing graphic art as typically two-dimensional, produced on a flat surface, and relying more on line or tone than on color. A better idea, but still difficult to nail down. So I decided to go with what I think of when I think of a graphic style. Some things that come to mind for me are clean lines or geometric shapes, an emphasis on both photography and typography, minimal embellishment, and interesting use of scale and white space. Here are a few examples I found on pinterest And here is what I came up with I hope I've given you enough to go on! Can't wait to see your take on a graphic layout. As Always: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a guest spot on the Lilypad Creative Team! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
That is gorgeous!!! Can't wait to figure this one out. Lynne-Marie has those awesome templates that could do the trick.
I think she must be thinking of these. https://the-lilypad.com/store/Press-Play-04.html https://the-lilypad.com/store/Press-Play-05.html
