I want to share with you how I put together this little hybrid album I made with the September M3. This all came together very quickly in one evening, in approximately 2 hours. 1. Design The design part (done on the computer) took me 1.5 hours. This includes designing a couple cards for the covers and inner pages of the mini album, while I also used several of the gorgeous ready-made cards that are in the kit and add ons for other pages. I just love to give my own twist to things. In fact, I started by designing the card that became the cover, and that's how I got the idea to make a little album. Each page in my album is 3"x4" in size. I chose this size because that's the size of several of the nice cards included in the M3, and it made for easy printing at home on 4"x6" matte paper. I made a canvas in Photoshop that was 12"x12" in size to see how everything would get laid out. The first two cards are the back and front cover, respectively, while each pair of cards following is a spread in the mini album. There are no shadows because all the elements and photos will be printed separately and cut out. I printed the digi pages on Canon matte photo paper, while the photos were printed on Canon glossy photo paper. 2. Assemble Here's what my pages looked like after printing. It took me about a half hour to assemble the album. Rather than bother with adhesive, I just used my sewing machine to attach the pages to each other back to back. I added some masking tape for the spine, and stitched some more along the middle of the album to bind all the pages together. 3. Enjoy So here's a closer look at the inside pages in the assembled album. And the back cover: I added some journaling to the pages to describe my favorites moments of this past summer [not pictured] and my album was done! Quick and simple, but so pretty! Do you do mini albums? I love that by doing a hybrid album you can lay it all out on the computer first - no second guessing required!
What a great idea; I had never considered doing one. It might make a great gift for my granddaughter who will be moving into her new home in three days.
This is so amazing Cristina! I can't believe you made this is such a short amount of time! Very cool! And your photos are just adorable.
Thanks ladies! Come on, I want to see your minis now! It's really not that hard! Each page in my album is 3"x4" in size
