Hello Everyone, Michele here hosting my very first challenge. Journaling can be a Love/Hate thing. I love to write the stories of the photos I am scrapping (not only for myself, but for my kids and grandkids to look back on someday). On the other hand, I panic when asked to write a 300 word essay on something, I then tend to ramble. On that note, there isn't going to be a huge writing requirement...just enough to tell a short story, although it can be longer if you wish. For June, the prompt is "Tell us about your first job". This can be about your first job or you can interview a parent/family member and find out more of their story. It also doesn't have to be strictly your very first job (we all probably started out babysitting or mowing lawns), but maybe your first "real" job. It could include (but doesn't have to) "How did you get the job?", "What did you like about it?", "Was this a dream job?", "How long did you stay there?", or "What did you do with your first paycheck?". These are questions to get you started thinking and hopefully bring back some good memories, you don't have to use them. This is a journaling challenge. 1. Please provide at least 3 sentences from the prompt "What was your first job?" 2. Some sort of date 3. It can be photo less if you would like 4. Please use 75% Lynn Grieveson Designs 5. Please upload to Lynn's Gallery at The Lilypad following The Lilypad's rules. and then add it into this thread too, so we can leave you some love and count your entry. 6.You have from now until the 30th of June to post. If you have any questions or need to reach me please tag me. My layout about my Dad's first job during/after University, I used Lynn Grieveson Designs (along with The Nifty Pickle), Artful Starter No. 2 and her Joulukuu Kit And now some great inspiration pages from the Creative Team: From mcurtt (Marilyn) From Bev G From flowersgal From chigirl (Judy)
Love your page and your photos! I am glad it brings back good memories, thanks for taking on this challenge!
Thanks for the challenge. My journaling is short, but I tried to do it in English, which is not my native language.
Thanks for this, it was fun remembering my first part time job in a flower shop. I tried to put the credits in, but I used a mish mash of Lynn's goodies and the cat jumped up on the laptop and flattened the image, saved the image and shut the laptop down, so I've just tried to remember as much as I can. I also was going to make a few tweaks, but he saved over the original tif file so ...
For this I used: Worn Edges Simple 2 layer 1. Artful Starter # 2 Clusters 1, 2 and 3. Under Pressure 2 paper and frame. It was the 70's.
This led me to a long search for information because I have no photos and very little specific memory of my first job. A google search for photos led me to the mall's Facebook page, which was interesting to read and provided these images.
I sure wish I had photos from this job but it was the 60s (noted in the journaling) and who took job photos then! Lots of fun to remember.
What fabulous pages! Loved seeing all of them. Very hard to pick a winner, and in the end it went to @fruitysuet - wonderful first job and suitably pretty page!
