Hello April. Welcome to the 2nd Inspired by Art Challenge. I love the various forms of art -- pottery, fiber art, sculpture, painting, watercolors, etc. I have selected four examples as inspiration this month.

Tell me: 1) which number you picked and 2) what inspired you from it.

I chose number 2 as inspiration for my layout. It is a fiber art creation and I loved the texture of the background with the slightly transparent woman on top letting a bit of the background show through. For my own layout I used a fiber art creation by our artist daughter with a selfie atop it.

Thanks for joining the April challenge. Have fun! I'm looking forward to seeing your artsy creations.

I was inspired by the upper right image. The light background in the photo reminds me of the art with the subject in front on the left.

I was inspired by image #3...such pretty colors! Not sure I hit the 75%/25% mark since I had to go hunting for colors and shapes of flowers to use, but it is still lovely, and I appreciate the challenge!

I chose #4 and was inspired by the painted feel (which inspired the paint in my background) and bold lines (which inspired the double pink borders around my photos).

Thank you for this challenge. I was inspired by the art piece with all the flowers:

I was inspired by #2 because I had these photos of amazing Hmong fabric art. I applied a burlap surface filter to the background paper to give it the appearance of cloth. I added stitching in the corners and the 2 pieces of gauze fabric to highlight the large photo and give the entire page a fabric-y feeling.

I was inspired by number 1. It isn't pottery, but sculptural. I rarely use larger 3D type things in my layouts, so this was a fun thing to try out.

Oh boy, this month has been going by so fast. It's been super busy and I almost had to pass on this month's challenges. But I managed to do a couple just in time.

I was inspired by artwork #2, especially the diagonal block pattern.
In the Netherlands LSD (Last School Day) is a big thing in secundary school. To celebrate the last regular school day some students organise stunts like filling up classrooms with balloons or stealing the staff's coffee machine, others have a fun day with costumes and games. And often there is some kind of gala evening to celebrate lessons are now over. All they need to do now is study and sit their exams.
Our Viktor had a wonderful LSD. In the morning he went to school dressed up Minion style. In the evening the teachers had organised a gala dinner. He had been fussing over his vintage outfit for months and looked dapper on the red carpet.

Ladies -

Thank you all for some fabulous art inspired layouts. I'm so thankful we use a random generator to pick the winner as it would be too hard to decide! The generator chose lm44west as the winner. But you are all winners with a participation coupon and since it is for 15% off one transaction over $8.99, the more you load in your cart the more you will save. Please note the restrictions when you get your coupon code.

Enjoy!

@meterr - So glad you were inspired by the Art Challenge. You have created a lovely layout and I love the way you framed that wonderful vintage photo. As you already know, the challenge closed on April 30 but I'm delighted that you shared this page with us here.
