Welcome to Froggy Friday and LOVE Our Designers Daily Crush – former Illinois State Corrections Officer and Army Brat Becca Bonneville! This event isn't a traditional CHALLENGE in that there aren't any rules. It’s a fun event to scrap with products from a fave designer or try a new (to you) designer. It’s all about having fun and celebrating the uniqueness of all of our Lilypad Designers! We are blessed to have the very talented digital illustrator Becca Bonneville on The Lily Pad Design Team. Hailing from Southern Illinois with her husband and three kids (ages 15, 18 and 25), Becca has a fun and whimsical style that works well with digital scrapbooking and hybrid projects! Be sure to check out Becca’s One Day Only FLASH!!! Sale with a buy more, save more feature! And, for one day only, Becca has a Freebie! Fruit Salad digital stickers will be available to purchase after today. Becca started her journey into digital scrapbooking and crafting as a Creative Team Member for others. She decided to try her hand at design and was accepted to an apprenticeship with Little Dreamer Designs. With much encouragement from friends and having a great learning experience through the apprenticeship, Becca opened her own shop. Years later, she landed a spot at the best scrapping pad in town – The Lily Pad! Here, she honed her Adobe Illustrator skills and personal style. Hello Adventure Basics and Stickers – Picture credit Becca Bonneville. A few years ago, I was the lucky recipient of one of Becca’s Pocket Letters. I can personally attest to the quality of her digital designs and craftsmanship. She is a master at her craft which also includes card making and adding inserts into her MemoryDex! I asked Becca about inspiration and this is what she said: I love to pull inspiration from everywhere. Home decor, clothing, crafting trends, color trends and just things I think are cute (like cats, I love cats hehe). Sometimes I just feel like illustrating something and make a whole collection from that. For example, my The Simple Life collection, that collection came from me just wanting to illustrate some chickens. I have a deep appreciation for innate artistic talent, and I believe Becca is full of talent! I love how she goes from concept and brain storming ideas to creating a Pinterest visual board of ideas to planning a color palette, then developing illustrations and papers that go into the scrapbooking kit. I am confident I am not her only fan as her designs and collections are found in print companies and throughout The Lily Pad digital and hybrid communities. And I did mention she is a master crafter, right? To say I follow people like Becca on Instagram in hopes I can one day craft like them is an understatement. Here is a sampling of Becca’s handiwork: Photo credits - Becca Bonneville And for our digital scrapbook artists out there, here is a smorgasbord of ideas from community members using Becca’s kits: Apparently, there are hobbies and interests outside of scrapbooking and design. Becca also enjoys hiking, rockhounding, reading, lunching with her sisters and mom, and bible journaling. As she says, “whatever the craft du jour my ADHD brain is on that day.” Oh, and Mexican food and margaritas – a girl after my own heart lol!
