Welcome to week three of The Summer Bucket List event.

Since this week’s 30% off sales are journal cards, traveler’s notebooks, past Memory Pockets Monthly collections (MPM) and pocket scraping, our challenge this week involves…..

You guessed it, pocket cards!!!

The theme for this week is Staycations or Hometowns. Your challenge is to list at least three things about a past staycation, a dream staycation, or your past/present hometown. AND, you must use at least three journal cards in your layout – or – use a traveler’s notebook in your layout.

I’ve always loved staycations for two main reasons. First, when you can’t have a proper vacation, it’s nice to break out of the monotony of day-to-day with local adventures. Second, I’ve been blessed to live in many places – from Maryland to Texas, to Hawaii to Washington, to Oklahoma and Missouri. A fantastic way to get know your hometown or current residence is to have a staycation!

A staycation is a mini holiday in which one participates in leisure activities within a day trip distance of their home. In other words, overnight accommodations are not required. Since I have no plans for a vacation this summer, it’s a perfect opportunity to reacquaint myself with the cities of St. Louis and St. Charles and the surrounding parks, museums, and restaurants.

If you have not participated in a staycation, you may develop a layout about a dream staycation. Your list could be all the places you want to visit (like the city zoo, a day at the water park, a day at the art museum followed by dinner at a new restaurant). If you already have a trip planned, you might like to develop a list of things to bring along - like extra water, bug repellant, camera, and snacks.

If staycations are not your thing, you are welcome to reminisce about your hometown – the place you were born or grew up, or where you currently live. You could list three things you love about your hometown, or facts about your hometown. If you are like me and have lived in many places, maybe you'd like to list your past hometowns.

The minimum requirements for this challenge are:
- Develop a layout with a staycation or hometown theme;
- Have a list of at least three things;
- Use at least three pocket cards on your layout (or a traveler’s notebook).

Your new creation must be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and posted/linked to this thread. Your layout must contain at least 50% TLP product (templates count as 15%). Please list all credits and no off-site linking.

The deadline for Summer Bucket List entries is August 21st at 11:59 EDT. For completing this challenge, one lucky participant will win an $8 coupon to The Lilypad store, and one will win a $3 coupon. All participants will win the Week Three pin!

And here is my layout! It's gonna be a quiet summer punctuated with home repairs (one planned, one unplanned). But there are many places to visit and things to do in and around ST. Louis, MO.

I also love the Staycations! Pretending to be a tourist in your own town/village is so much fun!

Thanks for this challenge! It's only 1 hour drive from my home, but we had never taken the time to visit this famous and lovely village. It's done!

Pins sent up to this point. If I've accidentally missed someone, please give me a shout out!!

Thank you so much for hosting dear Lisa, here's my take, full credits in gallery. Wishing you a very beautiful day!

thank you for the challenge. We don't use the word vacation (or staycation) in the UK - we call them holidays.

I guess you could say that I have 2 hometowns ... 1 where I'm currently living, and 1 where our kids are living and where we will go back to when we are back in the U.S. So, 2 layouts, or a double spread, LOL :)

fabulous pages Bethany @bjthomas It must have been quite a culture shock, not only moving to a different Country, but also going from rural living to a big city. Wow.
