What do we mean by "Creating a Sketch"?
A "sketch" in photoshop is the technique that use a photo and converts it into a realistic pencil drawing. There are some fun ways to use a pencil sketch in our scrapbook layouts. In past MOC challenges, I have used this technique.

    Past Challenges:
MOC 2017 | January 25: Photo Treatment/Technique: Artistic sketch (Photography challenge)
    Photo Technique (watercolor)

What type of photo works best for a sketch?
Sketches work best when there are strong lines and decent contrast.
You can use a portrait or a landscape.
You might want to isolate a subject from a busy background.

Create a sketch in 6 easy steps:

    1. Open a photo

    2. Convert to Black and White

    3. Create a copy of the image layer(duplicate layer)

    4. Invert the image

    5. Change the layer style/blending mode to Color Dodge (you will see a plain blank white layer)

    6. Add a Gaussian Blur and play with the settings until you are happy

Aw, I missed the May 9 chat because of work. I'm not sure I'll be home in time for tomorrow's chat either. But I would love to try this technique again and should be able to attend the third chat and make a page for the slow scrap.

@FarrahJobling dear, where can I find the instructions for the scrap, or the only requirement is just a sketched photo?
Here's my page that I made following the instructions, full credits in gallery, thank you so much for the fun technique.

I wanted to participate but ended up helping my son instead. And now I have to go to work so I doubt I'll be scrapping today. Just wanted to let you know I was intending to join you!

I am SO sorry....I just got home from the ER and I'm going to sleep finally....will post instructions later. I'm ok....I was playing around with the dogs and ran into the pergola and gave myself a concussion. But I was up all night and now I'm soooo tired.
