so it's nearly back to school time here for another year and so it's a bit of a labelling frenzy time of year. We have one of these pink Dymo machines and it's one of my favourite things!

And the kids have a bunch of ordered iron on labels for uniform that i bought ages ago when those laundry markers weren't so reliable, and they have personalised vinyl name labels from commercial sites because sometimes they're free as part of a promotion so we are swimming in labels at this time of year. I admit to being label crazy - there are labels on pretty much everything in my craft cupboard so (in theory) i should be able to find everything (ahem, as long as it is put back in the right spot) and most of our jars have some form of label on them. I also tend to write the date on anything that we've opened before it goes in the fridge etc. I may need a 12 step program.

Are you a chronic organiser or labeller? Do you have a preferred labelling method?

YES! I have one of those label machines and I love it! It's great for marking cooking ingredients that I've put into other containers (a flour is a flour until you label it, right???) I use it for everything. I try to stay organized. I really do. I'm a chronic mess-maker so any tool to help me stay organized is great!

I love my label maker for sure. The thing I use it the most for is adding labels to every cord that comes into the house, so that when I find them laying around or they are ALL shoved in our junk drawer in the kitchen, I can tell what the cord even goes to. :giggle I also started labeling all of my spices last year or so because I have one of those long skinny pull out cabinets in my kitchen when you see the tops of the spice jars easily, but not so much the sides... so I added labels to the tops of the jars so I can easily grab what I need. I LOVE that!

ETA: my spice cabinet is kinda like this (this is mine, just one I found quick like mine)

we have a labeling machine for equipment and lunch boxes ect. I bought sew in lables for all the children for use on school uniforms and coats etc.

The current new labeling need is socks. With black plain socks being school uniform reuirement, and all 3 children having the nearly the same sized feet .... Putting coloured threads in the back of the socks at the moment for easier sorting after the laundry.

my spice rack is like that too. I should get a label maker since I’m pretty sure some of my spices were manufactured during the Eisenhower administration.

I bought that exact same label maker within the last year and I love it! I've labeled all of my little guy's stuff that he takes to daycare. Also as part of our remodel, I went through all of my crap and re-organized it, so everything has a nice shiny label on it. I have a spice drawer. I bought some spice jars that came with labels, but I have a few that weren't included that I've made.

I have that same label maker, but mine is silver and gray! How fun is that pink one? I want to try out the Brother P Touch series . . . but it's down on the list of things I want to purchase so it's gonna hang out on the wish list for a while!

I am constantly organizing and re-organizing. Sometimes systems only work for a short while or don't work at all, and they need to be changed. Other times, things just need to be tidied again. I usually tidy as I access different areas, but just recently I tidied and re-organized some kitchen cabinets and drawers that just weren't functioning the best they could.

Of course, I love to organize digitally as well. I don't know why I love things neat and tidy, but I just do, and I enjoy the process and the end results!

I don't label much, but I do buy different brands of socks and underwear so sorting among the men is easier. Ditto for daughter and I's underwear.

And the last big pantry clean-out & organize was forced by a pantry moth invasion, so I don't want a repeat of that.

i don't label things currently, but i've thought about it many, many times. If I were to start, I'd probably make vinyl labels with my cameo, because if I don't start using that thing, hubby is going to stop buying me anything I ever ask for (since it just sits there) :giggle

in my head, my kitchen cabinets all have beautifully labeled shelves. The canisters for flour/sugar/coffee, etc. are all beautiful, and my pantry has beautiful, clean baskets that always stay pretty.... I'm not sure which dream world this exists in, but I can say with certainty it is NOT my reality. :giggle

I label, but not with a label maker. On canisters and bins I have adhesive chalkboard labels that I write on with a chalk marker (looks like chalk, but it's much more durable). For containers that get relabeled often (fridge, etc) I just use permanent marker on washi tape.

I've wondered about the chalkboard ones, I never bought them b/c I thought they'd just get rubbed off easy & there'd be chalk dust everywhere , I never thought of chalk markers! I put masking tape on the lids of stuff that get relabelled a lot , like containers with leftovers too. Maybe I'm not as Dymo crazy as I first thought!

No joke: I took a few photos of the label maker I got last month...in the hopes I could use a MOC challenge to scrap my the new beauty!

I think you need to use an FDD template for a page with this photo - I think it's the one Cheryl was talking about wanting @gonewiththewind - I'll admit I've looked at these in a shop but the pink colour & fact that the Dymo one was narrower & fit easier in a drawer won out - at the time with this one I thought 'well I may as well sit a big old typewriter on my desk' & if things can be out of sight, I'm all for that most of the time

The Dymo caught my eye but this one had more options and wasn't much more money (like I say below, it was on sale).

@gonewiththewind is the one you want like mine??? There are a few, so it may not be. My old P Touch, which used batteries, finally died, and this one was on sale on Amazon. I love that it plugs in OR uses batteries. I also purchased off-brand label tape and it works perfectly! Love saving money!!!

Yes! That's it!

OMG this is brilliant! I have so many random cords!
And now I need that label maker!

My daughter asked for a label maker for Christmas last year! Lol! I told her to go crazy- but leave my kitchen alone. Her brother came downstairs with a label stuck to his head that said "decs' forehead" lol! Weve used it a lot for organizing the kids' closets & I want to do some organizing in our office this year & can see it coming in handy!
