Hi everyone, and welcome to the June challenges! I am pleased to bring you the Random Challenge and this month it is all about brushwork. Brushes and stamps are a great way to add interest to your page without overpowering the design. And you can add even more interest by layering brushes. We have so many different types of brushes to choose from. Lots of products already include brushes and there are separate brush sets to choose from. There is a whole store category for brushes here.

Your challenge this month is simple:
    • Use at least 3 different brushes from at least 3 different products from the store

Here I layered brushes from Tangie Baxter, Lynn Grieveson, Kim Jensen, Sahlin Studio, Sara Geason, and Pink Reptile Designs (linked credits in gallery).

As always, please remember the monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the June Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread.

The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month:

    2 challenges = 10% off
    4 challenges = 20% off
    6 challenges = 30% off

If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).

Good question! Stamps like brushes are the same thing and are perfectly acceptable. Stamps like postage stamps are not! :)

@HeatherB can we use 3 or more different products from the same designer or we need to use different designers?

Well this challenge just called out to me for an artsy layout with a touch of humor. So, here is my layout:

Here is mine. My brushwork is concentrated on the left side of the layout.

Products are all from Lynn Grieveson: Scrappable Stackables No 11, Monumental Brushes, Evening Rituals.

Is paint the same? I can't use styles in my program, but I have lots of paints, stamps (not postage) and I guess for lack of a better term - pre-made styles/brushes (that are .pngs in a kit). Are those all ok for this? Thanks!

Here's mine. I have not used brushes before. Used brushes from NBK (hello, intuitive and artCrush 15) and RJefferies (citron)
