July! Really?! This year is running away, but on the upside a new month brings a new crop of challenges! When I browse paper scrapbook galleries I am often drawn to pages that include lots of layers. I love to see photos nestled on top of stacks of pretty papers with unexpected elements peeking out. So, this month's random challenge is all about layers! I would like you to create a page using at least 5 layers behind your photo (or photos). The background paper doesn't count. Here's mine. There are 7 layers behind my photo: paint, notebook paper, 1 solid paper, 2 patterened papers, a flag, and twine. Have fun layering it on! Can't wait to see your pages. As Always: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad (new prize starting with the July challenges)! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
I liked this challenge! Here is my LO: I believe I have 7 layers - flowers, beads, two papers (purple and flamingos), paint drips, string, note paper with the coloured dots.
Stitches, leaf, thread, flamingo, two word arts, two banners, paper, stitches, and a few painty layers.
Here be mine... I have 5 layers of paint, grouped and blended with 5 layers of paper and 1 element, and 1 photo under my top layer photo.
This was both challenging and fun. Behind my photo I used: a paint splatter, 3 different stamps, stitches, leaves and a frame.
Edited to add another layout -- I inadvertly used the same layout for 2 challenges. I have multiple papers, button, scatter behind the photo Tiny-One by rdjrneace posted Jul 6, 2017 at 5:06 PM
Here's mine, I put paper strips + blocks, a charm, a circle, pieces of twine and a scalloped strip behind the photo:
Here is mine. Behind the photo: 3 paint splatters, 1 doily, 2 sets of leaves, 1 berry branch, 1 film strip frame, 1 word tab, 1 banner, 2 masks, 4 papers.
