    Thanks for another fantastic challenge!!

    I duplicated the photo - changed the bottom layer to black and white and then used changed to opacity of the top layer (to 80) and applied a luminance filter. I used the channel mixer to create a colored background and adjusted the "channel sources" to achieve the look of black and white and color. I then used a photo mask.

    Here's mine
    For this I used a Coffeeshop free B&W action but stopped t mid-way and used blending modes to enhance the photo.

    i have already posted one for moc 5 but wanted to play around with the tuts and found this filter under artistic ..rough pastels and then used blending on top layer...thanks for the challenge..

    the photo has some nice texture but i dont think you can see it on the screen

    I used the Iris Blur in Photoshop to remove some of the background in the image.
