I don't often mess with my photos, but this seemed like an appropriate time for it, especially since the original is a bit busy and out of focus. Fun challenge!
I did a photo treatment with my phone ( B&W with a strip of colour) as my program is older, and im having trouble finding add-ons to it. This is a pic of my son on a cold morning, telling me its too cold to have school open. It was 25 degrees that morning...today its 8 degrees!!! This was a hard one. Not the photo effect but to find the right photo and then find out how to use that photo. I don't know if I'm really happy with how it turned out... but the LO might grow on me... eventually... However, I used a iPhone app to make the photo black and white when I took the picture. Now I used something called Halftone in PSP to make it "dotty".
Well, I started with running a light action, then added a filter, then played with the curves, then ended up blending it onto paper, then brought back some of the reds, and hey presto, the only thing missing would be a skirt of Sara Gleason's petals, I think that would finish it off nicely, but since I ended up buying most of the January BYOC, oops, I don't think I can afford the petals at the moment...
i've been gone for a few hours and just got home to a messy kitchen and lots of homework still needing to be done bf the night is over ... but wanted to come pop in and quickly and see how everyone was making out with this one ... and WOW. the creativity and talent is awesome. SO looking forward to visiting all of your pages for a closer look later tonight or tomorrow.
Kit Used - Forever Joy Homecoming. On the picture I used a coffeeshop texture and applied a retro style action. Fun challenge!!
Violaine has graciously created a little tut (she uses Gimp) to explain how she did this. This also works in PS and PSE ... just wanted to make sure you all had a chance to see her process at work ... Violaine's Photo Effect process
Here's mine. Used the tutorial, but decided I liked it better with just the first step...lol! Then a b&w conversion.
I definitely tried something new. Those guided edits in PSE13 are actually pretty cool. Don't use them much.
FIGHTERS FOR WORLD PEACE V & K...the story continues... this was the most fun I had in a long time...
