i played too, i love technique challenges and Jan is one of my technique heroes! i used a teal, brown and a forrest kinda green as well as grey over my (or DH's rather) photo of a green lizard (with some interesting spots of blue and grey and i can't for the life of me think what sort he is right now) that was camouflaged basically against more green leaves ETA he or she's an iguana
Here are the challenge requirements: Create a color grid photo with at least 3 adjustments. When you post, please tell me what colors you used. Your grid must be at least 3 across and 3 tall, square or rectangle. You may have more than one photo on the page, but one of them must be in a color grid design. You may use black and white as one of your adjustments, but I need to see at least 2 other color adjustments in your photo. Use your photo on a layout. You can scrap it in any style you like, but you must use scrap product on your page. question: were we supposed to delete a square from our grid? I notice a lot of people did that and I want to make sure if I'm supposed to I go back and do it. Thanks!
Thanks, Christa!! I'm going to add a link to this post in clarifications and the original thread. I so appreciate it!
Thanks for the information, Angela!! I'm going to add a link to your post in the clarifications in case anyone needs it!
Oh, i need a little time to figure this out. I use an old version of PS. Christa's clarification helped a lot but a few steps are still not work well for me. E.g. the grid lines become grey over the white squares (but not over my grid picture).
@IntenseMagic can you use a different shape for the grid? I.e. triangles or hexagons? And is it allowed when it doesn't cover the whole page or if it is not a fully shaped triangle of square? Like this LO that I made previously:
I think, for this challenge, I would prefer that the shapes be square or rectangle. I am not totally opposed to something like your example, but I would like to see a more distinct grid line between some of the boxes, like the ones to the left. Does that make sense?
Whew! That was hard! But cool! I hope I remember to try this again. I would have liked to spend more time perfecting it but this year I have to rush to my MOC pages.
Thanks for the challenge, this was really fun! I did find a small shortcut with PSE. Make your vertical or your horizontal lines for the grid, then duplicate the layer and rotate 90 degrees. Using Rebecca's Aspen, links in gallery
Ok, off to fiddle with Photoshop I am. I'll try to stick to a grid and squares or rectangles! Thank you for the quick reply...
