Hi everyone and welcome to day 3 of our Month of Challenges! Today's challenge is all about the title of your page. We often think of our scrapbooks as "books", but we rarely treat the individual pages like one. This challenge is all about shifting your perspective - literally.

Your mission is to create a layout where the main title is oriented vertically. Think of the spine of a novel or coffee table book. Instead of the title sitting comfortably at the top or bottom of your page, it needs to run along the left or right side, acting as the structural "anchor" for your design.

To complete this challenge, your layout must include:
  • A Rotated Title: Your title must run vertically along the left or right side of the page. You can use Stacked Text (letters one on top of the other) or Rotated Text (turning the text layer 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise).
  • "Bound" Elements: Use an element to mimic a book binding along that same side - think washi tape, a strip of contrasting cardstock, stitching, or even ribbon.

Here's my page for a little inspiration:

In addition to the specific instructions above, your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges. Your page must be posted in three places:
  1. Uploaded to the TLP Gallery (not an outside hosting site).
  2. Posted in your page thread you created in the MOC Layouts Folder. You should have one post per completed challenge page. If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean.
  3. Posted in this thread. People can comment here if they wish.

Please use the Copy GALLERY BB code found on the right side of the gallery when posting your pages to the MOC Layouts Folder thread and to this challenge thread.

Your page must contain Lilypad product (pages with photos and font only do not count). Product from other stores will not be allowed for MOC; your pages must contain 100% Lilypad product (current or retired product from designers or guest designers presently selling at The Lilypad).

I can't wait to see what you do with this challenge. Happy creating!

This spot reserved for questions.

Is it ok to have more than one photo, or does it need to be one large photo? Yes! More than one photo is ok and so is photoless!

Does it need to have two ribbons or "bindings" or is one OK?
One is ok!

@Aerobigirl I will defer to Heather, but the way I read the challenge is that there are no limitations on the number or size of photos you include (i.e. your page could be photoless, include more than one photo, etc) :heartlub

Here's my page:

Thank you for hosting, Heather @HeatherB ! I really enjoyed this!

(I used the dodge and burn tool on the side/vertical Title to make more of a book bind; I then made the page like the front of a book with the stitched alpha. My title though is the book binding sideways font title.)
