This photo was taken at my in-laws house and has tons of crazy colors going on in the background with two throws. I would have definitely been tempted to crop it and convert to B&W. But, doing so would leave out the atmosphere of Christmas at the grandparents house where it is all crazy throws.
This was actually harder than I thought it would be!
I hope this will count- I made it and then went back and realized maybe I should have put more journaling? But the words I did put tell the story. Originally I was just going to crop the photo so it was just my daughter, but then I decided to use the whole photo to show her friend as well - even though it's not the greatest photo of the two of them. It also shows the kitchen where they love to sit and do play doh and eat snacks together.
Finally finished mine! For MOC 18: telling a story with the photos - to crop or not to crop. I normally would have cropped close, but that wouldn\'t show the fact that they were playing with skateboards in the middle of winter!
I would normally crop this one as the background is really busy, but the background is also really cool because the restaurant allows people to write all over the walls, chairs...everything, so that was fun.
Oh my goodness - I can't believe how hard it was to find a photo for this challenge!! I got stuck, big time. But, I think this photo will work... normally, I would crop just the two boys and leave the others (top left) out of the picture, but love how when leaving the photo whole, it show just how much in their own little world those two boys are
Thanks a lot for this great challenge!
having to do this challenge made me realize how much I like to shoot tight photos. great challenge thankyou!
I love the idea of using a close crop and the original to give a frame of reference (hadn't thought of that before really). So here is my close-up shot and then the distance one (I didn't want to use it before because I thought it was too busy but with a mask, it works). Thanks for giving me a new perspective on choosing which photos to scrap.
Here is mine
