Yikes! this is going to help me to learn shadows and fast! hehehe. I barely ever cluster stuff as I like clean and simple. Looking at those layouts already posted let's me know that I can do this and it's not toooooo daunting. Thanks for the challenge... going to find something(s) to play with.
Day 18 - Create your own cluster Products: All About You by The Lilypad Designers Requirements: design a cluster with at least 12 elements from the provided list: I used labels, branches and pre-made paper tears/bits summing up to 14 in total (excluding the staple) - please find detailed list below include drop shadow for each item included in cluster - I did this in hybrid so I added lots of different foam pads to create dimension and layers - please see detailed pictures below List items I used to create the cluster (layers from bottom to top): light orange label (APennington_AAY_Label (3)) branch top right corner (nbk-AAY-stem) ripped paper piece “Notes” (rjefferies-AAY-FWP2-journalspot) + real staple as replacement for printed staple light grey label (APennington_AAY_Label (2)) old rose label (APennington_AAY_Label (7)) dark grey label (APennington_AAY_Label (4)) yellow label (APennington_AAY_Label (6)) branch bottom (nbk-AAY-stem) word strip “/it’s always been you” (sc_aay_wordbit) black large label (sc_aay_label) light green label (APennington_AAY_Label (1)) light grey label (APennington_AAY_Label (2)) word strip “you”(sahlinstudio_allaboutyou_ws-you) clip (justjaimee_AAY_FWP2_clip) Detailed image of cluster layers: View attachment 373949 View attachment 373950 View attachment 373951
well that's the most clustering i've ever done without a template - here's mine and an itemised version, i stopped counting at 14 (when i realised i only needed 12 things - you'd think i would know by now to read the challenge twice for good measure)
UGH! Can't stand clusters; making them or using them. To me they look like a pile of stuff. Oh well, this is supposed to be a challenge. Your instructions are very clear @SeattleSheri . This will be a challenge all right! Let's see what develops!
Thank you so much for this gorgeous challenge, Sheri @SeattleSheri for my cluster I used: 1 flower blue 1 flower green 1 flower paperstar 1 flower red 1 flower peachy 1 button grey 1 button peach 1 button peachy 1 bead 1 tag 1 twine 1 ephemera milkcap 1 paper strip 1 paper pennant 1 frame
Thanks for this challenge! the 14 elements of my cluster: 3 foliage 7 flowers 1 ribbon 1 collage 1 heart 1 butterfly
Used this challenge to deal with a difficult issue. Art Therapy! 1. Notes sticker 2. morning sticker 3. evening sticker 4. afternoon sticker 5. exclamation point sticker 6. paper note 7. dots sticker 8. arrow (white) 9. arrow (green) 10. tag 11. gauge 12. flower
@SeattleSheri Can this layout be hybrid (doing physical clusters) or do you want this done solely digital? Thx
Hybrid is totally fine as long as all of the challenge criteria are met. For the drop shadow aspect, just make sure the elements aren’t completely flat to the page. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Definitely a bigger cluster than my comfort zone, but ended up really liking it! Thanks for the challenge. All papers and elements from Kristen Aagard's Twinkle Toes. Cluster items: 2 Ribbons 1 Wire 3 Musical Notes 2 WA strips 2 flowers 1 Scatter 1 Toe Shoes 1 Ballerina
Super fun challenge, Sheri My cluster: Ribbon Wood flower White flower Gold flower Wood tree 3 pine branches 3 snowflakes (2 different ones) Green branch Red branch Blue branch Brown branch Flair
Cluster elements: 2 Pieces of doily 2 Brown leaves 2 Tan leaves 1 Coral flower 1 White flower 1 Tag 1 Heart scatter 1 Black bow 1 Camera flair
Do you consider a button as an element? I notice you listed flairs and I consider them about the same. Also, I noticed that Christa had used and counted as one of her elements a journal card. Can I assume that journal cards are acceptable as elements?
Thank you for the challenge Sheri my cluster (14 elements) 3 flowers 1 leaves 1 pinwheel 1 sequins 4 paperstrips 1 mega brackets 1 punchinella 1 label 1 reinforcer
Hi Patsy, I intentionally didn't put buttons on the list because I was worried people would just put buttons in the center of 6 flowers and call it a cluster. If the spirit of the challenge has been maintained, I'm ok with a button or two thrown in there since I didn't specifically exclude them in the clarifications section of my post. I'm considering journaling cards as pre-made paper bits I can't wait to see what you come up with!
I went with the "Go Big or Go Home" mindset for this challenge with 27 pieces in my cluster. They're all listed in the gallery rather than specifying them on this page. The cluster does not include the vellum or the paint.
Thank you for the challenge! For the cluster I used: 6 different flowers 3 leaves (1 double) 1 branch with flowers 2 buttons 1 branch 1 tag 1 ripped paper 1 ribbon 1 transfer
