January 13: By The Numbers Happy Monday! We are almost halfway through the MOC and I’m delighted to be today’s host! I love getting to the point and quantifying things in quick and easy to read ways, especially when done in a concise way such as an infograph, which is simply a visual representation of data. Infographs are short blurbs of information told with numbers and facts, and they are very fun to read! They highlight the details of something in short blurbs of text and quantify the facts. Here is a layout I made that uses the concept of an infograph and showcases what I am referring to - a trip with my daughter using minimal words and the numerical data to describe highlights of our trip: So today’s challenge is to focus on the numbers that comprise the details of an activity event and document that information on your layout. This isn't a list of sequential numbers, but instead a documentation of the various numbers/data points that comprised your event or activity and tell the story. Rules for this challenge - Your layout for this challenge should include the following: 5 or more numbered data + minimal text details (think short & simple!) about a PAST activity or event. These should collectively tell the story of your subject. Remember, you are not making a numbered list, but using numbers to describe the details of your story. You do not need to use photos, but your page must contain TLP product. Here is another layout I made for this challenge documenting my year in fitness by the numbers: Random examples events and activities that can be told using numbers + minimal text to tell the overall story: Outdoor Adventure: 5 people, 2 dogs, 3 hours, hiked 6 miles, 1 very good day Road Trip: 300 miles traveled, 10 hours on the road, 5 rest stops, 4 traffic jams, 1 very long day Family Gathering: 30 family members, 15 entrees, 7 party games, 2 days, 1 fantastic reunion Vacation: 638 photos snapped, 4 books devoured, 7 gorgeous sunsets, 6 sandcastles, 3 bottles of sunscreen, 6 blissful family members, 1 amazing beach week Year in Review: 14 doctor appointments, 4 travel sports teams, 3 scout troops, 9 states visited, 13 college applications, 16 business trips, 118 scrapbook layouts, 34 amazon.com orders, 2 exhausted parents, 1 blessed family Remember: Your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges. Your page must be posted in three places: Uploaded to the TLP Gallery (not an outside hosting site). Posted in your page thread you created in the MOC Layouts Folder. You should have one post per completed challenge page. If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean. Posted in this thread. People can comment here if they wish. Pages should contain at least 75% current Lilypad product (currently for sale in the store from either permanent designers or guest designers). I can't wait to see your layouts for the By the Numbers Challenge!
