HELLO, MOC Scrappers! Welcome to our tenth year of TLP's Month of Challenges event! This is my favorite part of the year for scrapping! As with the last few years, our first challenge of the event is the Blind Scrap. Using only the instructions I give below, you will "blindly" scrap your page without the benefit of a sample page. Once MOC is over, I will then post my page, and we can see how everyone interpreted the instructions! It's a lot of fun for me to see how different everyone's pages turn out based on the same set of basic instructions! Because this is our tenth year of MOC, your challenge is to create a page using ten, and ONLY ten, items. You can use any combination of photos, papers and elements, but each photo, paper and element will count toward your ten items. For those of you that paper scrapped, think of having a stack of ten "items" in front of you that you use to create your page. For example, if you have 5 photos, you can add 5 additional "things" (papers or elements) to your page. Since most of us are digitally scrapping, an "item" would also be a single thing that you credit. An example of this would be a premade cluster - while the cluster might consist of a flower, ribbon and button, the cluster itself would be one item. The only thing that does NOT count toward your 10 items is any journaling. Word art is not journaling; if you use word art, that would be an element you place on the page, and goes toward your item count. In addition, you must list your 10 items in your gallery credits. Your list of items might look something like this (the below is is an example only - your list will be unique to your page): 1. Background paper 2. Photo of a flower 3. Frame 4. Floral Paper 5. Scatter 6. Red Button 7. Yellow Button 8. Paint splatter 9. Premade ribbon cluster (2 ribbons and a staple) 10. Word art tag To re-cap your challenge: You must create a page using TEN, and ONLY ten, items of your choice You must list each item used to create your page Journaling is optional, and does NOT count toward your item count. Templates are NOT allowed to be used for this challenge. Once MOC is complete, I will edit this post to show my page and item list. In addition to the individual rules for this challenge, please follow our overall guidelines: Your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges. Your page must be posted in three places: Uploaded to the TLP Gallery (not an outside hosting site). Posted in your page thread you created in the MOC Layouts Folder. You should have one post per completed challenge page. If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean. Posted in this thread. People can comment here if they wish. Your page must contain Lilypad product (pages with photos and font only do not count). If you use product from other stores, your pages must contain at least 75% current Lilypad product (currently for sale in the store from either permanent designers or guest designers). Can't wait to see how you play with ten items, and I hope everyone has a wonderful Month of Challenges!
Clarifications and answers to questions will be added here as needed! 1: How are alphas counted? If you use one alpha, that's one item. If you use three alphas, that's three items. You do not need to count each individual letter as an item. 2. Do styles count toward your item numbers? No. 3. If I use 1 paper in multiple ways, is that one item, or multiple items? That would be 1 item 4. Do masks count as an item? No. 5. If I blend two papers together, is that one item or two? Two items 6. If a title is made with fonts, is that considered journaling? Yes
For MOC 10 - Day 1 Blindscrap, I used Allison Pennington's Foundation Basic bits and Rachel Jeffries Oh yes you can mixed media kit 1. Background paper 2. Grey mat 3. Punched vellum strip 4. staple 5. pink flower 6. thread 7. foliage 8. green flower 9. December wordart 10. photo with white stroke
I've decided that my favorite New Years Eve tradition is counting down to midnight, then immediately scrapping my first MOC layout. I made the title page for my 2022 album using the collab A Better Tomorrow by Little Butterfly Wings and Pink Reptile Designs. And thanks to finally learning how to use the Visual History (yes, it took me 6 years ) I even linked it in my gallery post! My ten items are: the paper a scribble (the stars, upper left) paint message (the big words and hearts, center) definition confetti (along the bottom) yellow flower yellow button word strip torn paper black & white button Now to go to bed! Happy new year everyone!
If you use one alpha, I'll count that as one item. If you use three alphas, that would be three items
Your photos count toward your entire item limit. If you use 10 photos, that would be the only things on your page. Since part of the requirements are that you have to use Lilypad product on your page, this won't work.
