I'm so sorry for your loss Donna. I just scrapped about losing my FIL. I debated on whether I should scrap about it or not, but I finally came to the conclusion that if I didn't, it would be a huge hole in my album, because it affected EVERYTHING during that time period. Anyway, I didn't know what products to use, so I ended up going with soothing colors more than a specific kit. I used items from the April 2016 BYOC and they really worked well for me. Here's my layout:

thanks everyone, it was to be expected the dreaded cancer, he was diagnosed 2 years ago with lung cancer which had later spread to all his lymphnodes the chemo was not working so they stopped in October just before xmas when he was told he has a massive tumour on his brain and he went down hill since then, not nice horrid cancer, takes the best from us and way too soon, was only 66
Just wanted to say 'I'm so sorry for your loss' I know how hard it is when cancer take a loved one. I losted my father this way in 2003. So Hard!
