Ok my husband has bought me a new iphone (I sold my last one and now changed my mind lol) so what apps do i need, what are your favourites

Yeah Talking Carl is my nemisis... https://the-lilypad.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7544
LOL

Love FB and Pandora though! I dont really use a ton of the apps on my phone, but my husband has pages and pages of apps on his. I mostly use maps, youtube, gmail, the camera... all the standard ones. There are suppose to be some good apps to edit the camera photos, but I havent tried them yet.

ooo. someone just opened up pandora's box...

practical:
the weather channel - way more detailed then the built in weather app
flixster - movie showtimes
remote - when you want to be lazy and control your itunes library from across the room
shazam - what song is this? shazam it!
urbanspoon - where do i want to eat tonight, spin the slot machine for a restaurant
app box pro / lite - a bunch of helpful apps in one spot

games:
words with friends - like scrabble, but whenever you have the time. you can play with friends or complete strangers. also a free version with adds
drop7 - more addicting than tetris.
pocket god - $.99 (in america, not sure about uk) but its totally fun, control little pigmies in different worlds. they come out with updates that add either new worlds or new objectives to beat
peggle - my mom and i love this game, it's almost pinball like
flight control - another $.99 gem, direct the plane to the landing strip, its super addicting also
plants vs. zombies - this is a super new game where you defend your house from zmobies by planting different types of plants to ward them off

not sure how some of these will come across in the uk.. but i thought i would still include them just in case (or for anyone else)

this link may also work. from apple.com showcasing different fonts for different things. swimming through the swamp that is the app store can be hard sometimes.

and finally congratulations on your new phone!

Starbucks
Kindle
Accuweather
Weather Channel
Currency XE - currency exchange
Yelp - shows you restaurants in the area of where you are
Daily Fail - funnies
Fluent News

ok i officially hate the uk,they rip me off for a pair of uggs and now i cant get pandora because i live in the uk :(

what's pandora?

pandora.com

type in an artist or a song you like. then it creates a radio station for you around that style. it's fab! you can give a thumbs up if you like the song, thumbs down if you dont, skip a few, link to buy it if you cant live without it, and there are very few commercials.

do you have access to it down under?

nope the site doesn't work I get this message

Dear Pandora Visitor,

We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for listeners located outside of the U.S. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative.

Oh goodness! This sounds likes it right up my alley... I so wish I could get it in Canada.... here's hoping they make it available to us canucks very soon!

I have spotify on mine for music. You need to pay a subscription fee, probably like a tenner a month or something, but it is SO AWESOME. It has nearly every song I have ever searched for, and you can have offline playlists.

I just recently bought DSLR for dummies. Its pretty cool, you just scroll down to the kind of picture you want ie.. sports, daylight .. and it tells you approx what settings to put your camera on
