Hi everyone, I don't know if I'm the only one that have had troubles with Instagram. Long time ago I created an account, that was paired with FB, but I didn't use it, and I didn't care that Instagram at some moment deleted it, but when I tried to get it back Instagram said all the time that exactly that account was in use, it took me lots of emails, etc., to get it back, and then little time ago, again was deleted. I don't know if I need some followers. Actually being honest I don't know to use the app, I guess I spend most of my time in forums and facebook but not exactly in Instagram. So could please someone that would be more active in Instagram drop me some tips, it would be appreciated.

I’m so sorry you have this problem Grace. It’s weird to me that they would delete an account for any reason. All I know about Instagram is that you can follow others, others can follow you, can like posts, save posts, leave comments on posts and make your own posts. If you do those things once a month maybe it won’t get deleted again? Not sure but good luck.

Instagram's policy states that they have the right to delete accounts that are inactive for 90 days. (I decided to see if they had a policy.)

Only 90 days?! That is crazy. I have never heard of an account being deleted but then again I am pretty active on Instagram. I would say if you want to jump in start following more people and also maybe follow some hashtags - if you like to follow scrapbookers you could try things like #scrapbooking #memorykeeping #digitalscrapbooking #scrapbook

What a pain! So sorry they deleted your account. I can't believe that it's their policy to delete after only 90 days! I have Instagram and I do scroll through it sometimes, but there are often times that I go a long time without opening it at all too. I'd be super annoyed if they deleted my account though.

Mostly I only follow creative account on Instagram, so scrapbooking, painting, crafty stuff, so I only open Instagram when I'm looking for a creative fix. The only thing I post on IG is my scrapbooking pages, and even then I usually only post during MOC in January. I don't really want to overwhelm my followers with EVERY scrapbook page I make. :giggle

90 days!? Wow. I'm sure I've gone more than that without using instagram. But man, what a pain that your account has been deleted again. My mom has that issue with her Facebook account - it's constantly deleted. My cousin was an idiot and marked her as impersonating someone else, and now she constantly gets deleted. She had to make a new Facebook, and they deleted that one too, even after FB told her to do that! It's crazy when you end up in that weird spot with them.

Tips: I don't have many. I have 2 profiles - one is my personal and one is my crafty one. I mostly post on the crafty one and that's where I follow all the scrappers and designers and such. My personal one I mostly follow good things and thoughts, like scriptures, quotes, things to uplift me when I'm having a bad day. I login in on my computer mostly. I don't think I have the app, so I just use the browser when I get on Insta on my phone.

:thinking2thank you so much for the valuable information my dear, I'm gonna try to be more active. I created my account last May, and I used it last time on my Birthday (August), and now when I tried to loggin a big text that your count is gonna be deleted, etc., so stressful, but maybe I need to be more active at the beginning, I guess.

So sorry to hear what fb does to your mom, is really stressful and frustrating, because you create the account, save a lot of things and then need to start over again and again, and really it feels, like "ok whatever, anyway this account soon can be deleted", so my interest really gets down. It's a great tip to create 2 profiles, heading over to do it immediately.

In the past, one of my IG accounts was inactive for way more than 90 days and it's still around!

My DD had some major issues with IG freezing her account. She is a social media strategist for marketing company and so she visits a lot of sites and likes and follows a bunch. They inactivated her account with the vague explanation that there were potential violation of their rules but no specifics about what she did wrong. And, of course, you can't actually ever contact a person to talk to them - they only give you the option to submit an online form. She submitted repeated appeals to get the account reactivated but she eventually just had to make a new account. I get that they need to police some of the abuse (rampant fake accounts) on the site but they need a way for real people to contact a human being to straighten things out if there's a problem.

Oh my dear, so sorry to hear what happened to your DD. I'm in the exactly same situation, they doesn't allow me to follow people, or like post, a text appears that goes against community politic, and I wonder, what's the sense to call social media an app that doesn't allow to interact with people? and same situation here, they simply cancel and delete my accounts, and I have sent almost a hundred of emails, message via fb, etc., and nothing happened, and when finally I got my new account (on this May), now again the same show, really I have started to dislike IG, lol. I totally agree with you they need real people to contact, and find solution.

I rarely post on Instagram, but I follow a lot of people and "like" their posts. Maybe get into the habit of visiting once a week and "like" a post or two.

I have exactly 3 posts on my IG account that I started well over 10 years ago. For a long time, I never used it but it was still there when I did decide to start following some reality TV people. I never post and I never like posts. I only follow about 50 accounts and that varies by what reality TV people I'm interested in at the time! I also never use the app, I use it with a browser although some posts don't show up on chrome but do on edge. But stories (which are what I actually use it for) work better on chrome than edge. I do look at it daily (except when I don't have a computer nearby).

I'm sorry you are having so many problems but IMO much of that is because it is now owned by FaceBook (Meta). They tend to ruin products with their updates especially FaceBook.

Wow, didn't know anything about the 90 days policy....seems very quick to take any action
