I'm such a dork

but we're watching Michael Jackson's This Is It, and holy moly, what a fantastic concert this would have been. He really was an amazing entertainer!

Oh, and I highly recommend the movie, even if you're not an MJ fan

i viewed a large percentage of it while i was sitting on the tarmac for 2 hours. i would like to see it again without interruptions.

putting his weirdness aside - he was a genius.

yeah he was good. I was watching a video clip yesterday and it's just amazing how good he is! It's also amazing that he was able to make naomi campbell look big! lol

apart from him being a bit cuckoo i think he was a great singer and performer especially his early stuff

I agree... I want to see it too. His was the first album I ever purchased on my own! I must say, I am partial to his Jackson 5 days... I'll be there, ABC, how can anyone not love those songs???

How funny! I was watching it last night too. It's like we were there together and had no idea.

It was pretty amazing, and you are right, would have been an incredible production.

He actually had a couple of Jackson 5 songs he was going to sing!

So there too. He has always held a special place in my heart. It's not like I would choose to listen to him, but when I do hear him, he always makes me smile.

I just finished watching it... I cried at the end, when it came across the screen that it was dedicated to his children. After seeing this, I am wondering why charges haven't been brought up against that doctor yet. I read that MJ's death was ruled a homicide, but that the doctor was still practicing (or trying to) medicine. There is no way anyone could convience me that MJ was physically ill... he may be thin, but he was in better shape than most people in their 20s and he was 50! Damn shame he's gone....

i almost rented it from redbox... but i got so turned off by him the last 15 years.
maybe i'll check it out today.
i did really enjoy him back in the day......

I have a hard time with "homicide" in the traditional sense. I do think MJ was taking various prescription drugs and think this was more along the lines of an accidental OD

The over dose was Propofol that Dr. Murray adminstered to MJ that night... after a series of other drugs were also given to help him combat insomnia.
From what I have read, just reported recently, the doc was having the drug fedex'd to his girlfriend's house, he'd pick it up and take it to MJ each night. The new report I linked for you below is very interesting as well and has a lot of information from the police report.

IMO regardless of how much a patient is whining or crying or bullying a doctor for a medication, THE DOCTOR IS STILL THE PROFESSIONAL and he should have just said NO.

I still have issues with "homicide" - in my mind, that's with a gun, or a knife, and done with a purpose. I'm not saying the doc wasn't responsible or negligent, I just don't like that label. I'm very narrow-minded about stuff like that!

He may have been a fabulous entertainer, but would ya want him as a neighbor???

I agree with Julie that it wasn't homicide. I'm sure Michael paid the doctor REALLY well to keep him doped up. His life just proves that fame and money do NOT bring happiness.
