Am I the only one saying: I will do that!!! And than afterwards think: did I really say that?!? Sometimes I really hate myself for it... A friend asked me to make a cake, it's really hard for me to say no, cause I love to make everyone happy. I knew it wasn't the best idea cause the kids are having spring break and I have to work the weekend, but I thought: I'll fix that... This morning I started to make 'tigger' I loved it, cause I've never made him before. That lasted for a few minutes and than I really hated him... eventually it took me 3 hours (and lots of coffee) to make a tigger that actually looked like tigger... Now I'm baking the cake while I'm looking at my sunny garden in with I will not sit and read a book because I made a promise... Bummer...
Oh no! That's no fun! I'm sorry your day is not going as you hoped. I say just do the best you can and get it done. And yes, ... totally been there done that. And is a bummer. Maybe the smile on your friend's face and eating the cake ... will make you feel better?
I’m a sucker for saying yes to things especially in the past but now my health and job hunting come first
I hate when I commit to something and something else comes up that I'd rather do! I totally feel you on that!
Even worse if you commit and you already know at the time of committing that you will hate doing it. In the last years I have learned to say no. If I know that I will resent doing it when the time comes I just say that I can't do it (without giving a reason most of the time). We are not obliged to satify all and sundry when it make us dissatisfied ourselves.
I find it easier to say yes than no too. I hope the cake turned out great and you get a big smile from it!
That's what I was going to say...her face will totally make it worthwhile!! This is me every. single. time. I say yes to letting the girls have friends sleepover LOL
I hear your pain! I offered to do a scrappy photobook for a family member once and now every significant birthday they all ask me to do another one .... gah, there are only so many pictures of you in your youth my friend!
I used to say yes to everything!! One of the best lessons I've learned as I've gotten older is how to say no I'd love to see that cake!!
