So, in a bit we are having the party for my boys birthdays together.

WE WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN!!!

Mathieu understands he has to wait, but he's not being patient at all... He has been dragging about his party with the adult people. He had a first birthdayparty with his class mates. So we thought that would make it easier for him. But it's not...

Anyways: they are both completely into the story of 'How to train your dragon' with Toothless and Hikki. His invitation was also with these characters...
I would like to do a themed birthdaypary with activities for the children: there will be in total 5 boys and 3 girls. They can be really hectic the boys, so I need to keep them a bit busy with things.
This evening I will be hitting Pinterest, but I thought perhaps you could give me some ideas allready, or hook me up to links that you think will be good. The children are about 6 years to 1 year....

Thank you sweeties! :heartslub

Hi sweetie - i loooove parties :)) I was just going to write that go on Pinterest .... It's my go to for all parties ... But I see that's already on your agenda :) so I will just leave it at enjoy the process!!! I think I love planning the party more than the actual party! Lol :) I m sure it's going to be rocking and the kids are going to have a blast :)

Saw this for sale on etsy. You could recreate it by having the kids paint backgrounds & putting a printout of toothless on it.

Love these ideas:
Train your Dragons – Play this game as you would Simon Says – just that the leader will be a Viking (wear your hat) and all the guests at this point will be dragons. See which Dragon (Guest) is the last one standing and will become your most Trainable Dragon.
Deadly Nadders Strike Zone – Played off of the game on the movies website. When training your Dragon it is important to always be on guard and be able to dodge their moves quicker than them. So for this have one guest be the Dragon and the other a Viking. Have them stand facing each other so when their arms are out they can just about touch. They have to keep their feet from moving, but can move side to side and bend forward and backwards only. Then the face off begins. The dragon must try and touch the Viking and the Viking must try to dodge being touched. Set a timer for about 1 minute – If the Viking can dodge the Dragon for that amount of time they win, if they get touched before they lose.
Mastering your Shield – The most important piece of equipment a Viking has is their shield. So why not test your Viking to make sure they have the skills to use it. Now here is where a fun craft comes into play. Let the kids Make a Viking Shield. You can do this by simply taking Cardboard or Heavy Poster Board (not thin type) and cutting out large circles maybe about 24″+ round. Let the kids have fun decorating them with crayons. markers, stickers etc… Then on the back attach a handles so they can hold it and make sure it is secure – use duct tape or Glue Gun to secure it. You can also create Swords as well using the Cardboard and cover it with Tin Foil to give it the look of metal. In the movie How to Train a Dragon the Vikings are always having to fight off being hit by the Dragons Tails and the fire they breathe so lets see if your Vikings can master their shields. For this I would take some Light weight balls like maybe Ping Pong Balls or Tin Foil Balls and line up your Viking while they are holding their shields. Then on go throw a ball at one or two of them without them knowing who it will be and see if they can protect themselves from being hit using their shield. If they get hit then they are out and so on. This game is one they will want to play over and over – so be prepared!!!
Dragon Tail Game – This is a fun game that all the kids play as they try to catch their tail – you will need lots of run for this one. What you do is have all the kids line up and create two teams. Then have them hold on to each others waist all connected in a big line. The last child at the back will have a Dragon Tail – you can use a Bandanna or any piece of material and stick it in the back pocket of the last child in line. On go the child first in line has to try to get the Dragon’s tail while they all stay holding on to each other. The first team to capture their Dragon’s Tail wins and then the players switch places and go again until everyone has a turn.

Thank you Jess, will be reading everything later today. Yesterday evening I hit Pinterest, but felt like I had been overblown. I had no idea it was so popular all over the world!

Jess±±±±± how amazing!!!!!!

Sara, not only I have no experience for boys parties, but also it was soooooo long ago I did Sarita's....now I don't even remember girls ones LOL
They are going to have so much fun!!! I get you never wanting to do it again though...I so admire my friends with lots of boys!!!

LOL, the last party the boys had here, they played "bear" in the dark (the person who is "it" goes and hides, then the first one to spot the person who is "it" yells "bear" and then they all run away screaming...at least that was the impression I got), nerf gun wars. Sorry, not much help for a themed party, but boys love nerf guns, and running games. If you were going for a traditional party game, you could play pin-the-tail on the dragon.

Hihi, I am allready in despair!!! No, lol, not true. But I'll be working out a plan to do at least SOMETHING special!!!
Pinterest has inspired me but also a bit bummed out. There are so many genius and handy mothers outthere.

Which I am totally NOT!!!
I won't tell you how long it took before I learned to ride a bike, or make a knot in my shoelaces or how to blose my nose... :whistle

Thank you for reminding me there are some people like me!! :giggle
