I registered for my first half marathon in August. The Biggest Loser is coming to Erie, PA and I am so excited. I feel a bit sick thinking about 13.1 miles, but I figured since it is in August I should have enough time to get back into shape
How exciting! I know you can do it and you'll feel so awesome when you can say you've done it! Is your foot all better? Do you have a work out plan that you're using to work up to 13? My Hubby just did his first half marathon in Oct and he found some online plan that he followed and liked. And I'm sure Angie will have lots of resources too, but let me know if you're interested in what he used.
Well, my foot is still healing. I started running again, but very slowly. I am working on getting back to running 3 miles at a time - and it is a process. I have downloaded a couple plans for training - but I would be interested in which plan your DH followed.
i like two plans.... they are very similar and really are easily modified to fit timing and ability... one is by Hal Higdon & the other is through Jeff Galloway.
Awesome. The farthest I've done is a 10 miler. I figure what's 3 more miles. Hopefully in the fall I'll do a half. Just started training for a 10k today.
Yay - so glad you are getting back to running Rachel - I bet it feels great!!! I just signed up for a 5k, 10k, and a color run, all in preparation for my first half marathon in Disney next February!!! I am so nervous and excited all at the same time!!! I have never ran more than a 5 k, and still to this day hate running - LOL!!! Good luck with your training!!!
