Welcome to the August Hybrid Happenings! Our inspiration this month is tags! A great thing about tags is they can be as simple or as complex as you’d like! As mini works of art, they are a great way to play with new color palettes or techniques on a small scale. Tags can also be functional – make some tags for birthday bags or get a head start on labels for Christmas gifts. Tags are seen in many, many styles: - Paper crafting using shaker dies - Scrapbooking as dimensional elements - Art journal as an anchor for word art - Mixed media as color or texture pops Tags come in many shapes and sizes including circular, rectangular, star, heart, and the traditional “tag” shapes. I was greatly inspired by Sannicreates' mini tags + the super bright and fun colors by p4craftstudios (both on Instagram). So, I made my own set using the rectangular tags from the July 2022 MPM Collection, Imagine. While I was at it, I made some whimsical mixed media tags, just for the fun of it. Note: No special tools required! Just a pair of scissors, pens, and washi tape. To make corners even, use the first cut off corner as a template for the rest. I do hope you’ll join me this month in making and showing off the versatility, fun and joy of tag making. As a reminder – photos with no digital product are welcome in the forums! Projects with at least 50% TLP product are welcome in the galleries + forums. And don't forget, there is a gallery for Hybrid! For a bit more fun and inspiration, keep your eyes on the Monthly Muse . And, if you used tags in a 100% digital layout, you are welcome to share your art here too!
I must have great taste because my eye went straight to those tiny tags too Lisa! I love your long skinny tiny tags! So much great inspiration in here! I really need to get my behind in my craft room and play. You're seriously giving my the itch!
There is a first time for everything! Tags could mesh well with the organic art you've been creating...you could even paint over them...like having a ghost image.
I see all these adorable tags. I don't really have a use for them. What kind of things can you use them for besides presents or name tags? I'm very UN creative about Tags. I don't use them much on my digital layouts either.
You can make them thinner and make cute bookmarks. I made some bigger ones and put cute pictures of my grandkids on them. i also hang some of them on my Christmas tree.
