how do i use SWL cutouts so that i can see the color under the cut out

    hope that makes sense. i want to cut out from my top paper the shape of the swl cut out and show the color below. i am using ps cc. hope someone can give me the steps or a tutorial thanks so much

    I hope I don't miss a step with what I do... but this is what I generally do. I put the cut out on a sheet of paper, merge the two and use the little magic wand tool to select the cut out... then hit delete! Add the shadow and I think you have the look you're wanting.

    If the paper you want to cut out is patterned, it might make sense to use a solid first and then clip the patterned paper to it.

    I hope that makes sense. Please let me know if it doesn't!

    oy i tried it but did it a different way on the layout... got the cut out and see the paper behind it but cant get a shadow. so it looks cut out
