Heartbroken....

Oh no, this is so sad, I feel for you. Losing a loved pet is so hard, I know. And you had not expected it, that's so hard... I'm sure after a while you will only remember the precious moments and this raw pain will be softened. For the meanwhile, I'm sending you big hugs and loads of support... Come back with us when you need a listening ear. :wubb

Loss is so much harder when it is unexpected. May you find comfort in the thoughts of your friends.

So very sorry. What an awful time. :( Big hugs to you. Wonderful blog tribute. Higgins was adorable, and I love the Batman costume.

I'm so happy that you guys are finding a solution for Ella.

I have no words, cause I am crying, big hugs to you! sniff

We are just heartbroken. We had taken one of our dogs to the emergency vet (as she is having back issues, rupture disc) last Thursday night. We talked to our regular vet after the ER vet and he wanted to see her last Friday morning, so we called and got her in around 9:30 that morning, trying to prepare for news that her back was worse, etc. Her disc is leaking again the vet thinks and she has no position (knowing where it is) sense in her back right foot/leg. The vet said the good news was that she still had position sense in the left back and dogs get around on three legs. Also, that he thinks it is the same disc and not a different one. We are getting her a cart to get around in.

We brought her home, relieved that she wasn't worse than what we were thinking and found our oldest dog in his crate appearing to have had a stroke. We had just been there 1.5 hours before to get Ella and he was fine. We rushed back to the vet with him, but there really wasn't anything that could be done that would have helped for sure. We didn't want him to suffer anymore, so we sent him on to the rainbow bridge.

I have cried all week off and on, we haven't gotten much sleep between being in grief, shock and taking care of the injured one.

So while I was pretty chatty, now, not so much. If you want to read the blog post about Higgins, you can read it at my blog. Don't feel like you have to or that you have to comment, but I just felt like sharing.

Thanks for listening. I am just lost right now.
So sorry for your loss! It is so hard losing one of our furbabies, and with the other one having issues I am sure it is doubly difficult!

I'm so sorry about your sweet fur baby. That is truly hard. We lost one to cancer so I know how you are feeling. Sending you big hugs.

Thank you everyone. I just felt like I had to get it out. I am going to do a page with the write-up that I had posted on Facebook/blog but I think it may be awhile before I can do that. Hugs to all of you that have lost a furry one (or non, I know some people like snakes!).

Oh no! I'm so very sorry for your loss Katrina. Our furbabies are such a huge part of our family.

Oh Katrina, I can't even imagine the amount of pain you are going thru with both of your pups. Losing one, and the other with walking issues. As you know we lost our beloved Jack on 6/21 while we were all on vacation. Please take care. I hope that the grief you are experiencing will subside.
