suffered from sinusitis? I've been suffering from it for the past 2 weeks. I just saw my doctor today and he recommended a CT scan to rule out nasal polys. I've tried all the home remedies, nasal sprays, sinus flush but nothing is helping.

I have an appointment with ENT specialist next week. Hopefully, he'll be able to help me permanently with my sinus problems.

Do you know of any home remedies? Please share with me.

The only thing that sometimes helps me find relief is a netti pot. Sounds like you've tried that already though! I'm so sorry, Jenna!!

Rachel, i've tried the netti pot. Katrina, i've been also taking the sinus medicine. My doctor was saying that i may have to get the sinus flushed. He prescribed two new medicines today so hopefully they'll work.

accccccccckkkkkkkkkk! My hubby just had surgery Thursday to remove polyps in his sinus cavities - we were there from 7am till 2:50. He was released but when we got home he started bleeding, so back to the hospital we went... they worked on him again and back home we went... Friday morning, he woke bleeding again - back to the hospital we went. He had surgery AGAIN to stop the bleeding. He just got the splints and packing out yesterday... so far so good, but he will be out of work for yet another week... but Jenna, his doctor has said it may not be permanent...

ok...so my worst nightmare is coming true! I met an ENT specialist and had a CT scan today. I have polyps in both of my nasal cavities and my sinuses are completely blocked. I will have to have a surgery soon. There is no other alternative other then surgery.

Girls, if you think you have allergies, get tested fast. Don't wait for too long. I could have prevented this by taking care of my allergies sooner.

Oh bummer Jenna! My husband is feeling better (finally) but he still sounds like he has a bunch of gunk in nose... hope your surgery goes easier than his (it should) but be prepared for at least a week of rest afterwards....

Ohhhhh... you gals are going to luv my story!:yup I've been through this very surgery twice now! As a child my nose was broken while riding on a snowmobile, but didn't know and it was never fixed. Over years I suffered from migraines, sinus infections and sinus pressure. I tried everything, from meds, to sprays, and lived on Advid Cold & Sinus. After a switch in doctors(that's a whole other story & won't go there. LOL!), it didn't take long for them to send me off to a specialist and have CT Scan done, which was amazing to look at. It was so clearly obvious why I had been suffering for years. I had developed sinusitus and polyps and my nasal cavaities were swollen and air was passage was majorly restricted, thus why I suffered all of the above. I had the first surgery in March of 2008 and the worst of it was having the splints and packing removed.

And then... after recovering from my first surgery and about 3 months later, I decided to join my daughter & neice on a trampoline! Not a good idea!! While jumping away, my daughter's arm came up and hit me right under my nose! Ouch!!! Needless to say, it was broken again and as the doctor stated, it was crammed in there pretty good. LOL! So, yes... I went through the surgery again.

Anyhow, I will be honest, the surgery and recovery wasn't pleasant, but the outcome was amazing! It was totally worth it. I suffer from migraines and sinus pressure once and while now, but not nearly as severe or as often. I'm truly a different person now... It's amazing how the lack of suffering, has inproved my outlook. Don't be afraid of the surgery... it's worth it!

Laurie... I related your story to my hubby... he's hoping tho get to your stage soon! He was actually feeling pretty decent today. Went in to his doctor this afternoon for a follow up and they found he had some hemotomas on his septum that they cut out and then repacked his nose. He now is off work until at least Tuesday. He's not thinking this was the best idea he's had yet!

Oh gosh... your hubby had more after sugery problems then I. (No! Not more packing! Yikes) I had no additional bleeding then the norm. Sending him speedy recovery wishes and tell him it does get better! And it will all be worth it! :-)
