I was running 5 weeks ago and my foot rolled off the asphalt. (Lesson learned - don't look at garage sales across the street when you are running on a narrow strip of road). Anyway, I immediately called my DH and he came and picked me up - since I was unable to walk. We headed to the Emergy Care center and they took X-rays. Doc said it was just a bad sprain and I should be back running in a few days. FIVE weeks later, my foot still hurts and I cannot put much pressure on it. I went and had additional X-rays taken - & indeed there is a fracture in my 5th metatarsal. I was hoping that I would be able to start running again soon - no luck!
I'm sorry. I hope it heals up soon so you can get back to running! It's too bad they didn't catch it from the beginning.
OMG Rachel - my heart just hurts for you! I know as a runner that not being able to run is like being a caged bird. I cried all the time when I couldn't run for a week! I really hope this gets better for you right away!! Hugs love!
Ouch - that stinks! I hope you're on the road to recovery now. Do you get to wear one of those uber attractive boots?
Oh man, that sucks. Did they say how much longer until you're healed? I'm not surprised they didn't catch it right away. I know that x-rays taken too soon after ankle/wrist injuries often are hard to see because of the swelling. I hope you'll be fixed up soon and back on your feet like normal again.
