A day that I had no idea existed and definitely speaks to my heart; but today is National Flip-Flop Day. I have worn flip flops all of my life, they are a convenient staple for me and I generally have a few different ones to choose from.

I have a couple of pair near my front door, a pair on my patio and maybe one stashed in my closet. Here is my most recent pair that I haven't quite broken in yet. Tell me about your love for flip-flops and maybe share a snapshot of a favorite.

Last summer, I had a pair go "missing" from my patio. I've always wondered if it was the bobcat that absconded with them. :)

I do not know where my flip flops have gone. And I am quite disappointed because they were all broken in. I do struggle to wear them, though, as they bring on my plantar fasciitis, but for quick trips outside, they are handy.

I'm not so much a flip flop girl, but I do love my Birks and live in them all summer long!!

I hope you can find them, they are great for quick runs outside to take care of little things.

No flip flops for me. Can't stand the strap between the toes. I do have a couple of pair of sandals that are like flip flops in that you just slip your foot in. They just don't have the toe strap.

Definitely have to go with what works for you.

I switched from flip flops to Birks as well. They give better support. Hubby wears his flip flops all summer though. He loves them. I tend to walk barefoot inside the house in Summer or slippers in winter.

Barefoot indoors for me too and slippers on the chilliest winter days

Same! I cannot stand a strap between my toes, just thinking of it makes me feel twitchy.

I do think flip flops are really cute, and I love them as a summery scrapbooking icon. But I cannot wear them on my feet.

I used to be a flip-flop wearer. I grew up in San Diego, after all. But for the last twenty six years I've lived in Virginia. I still have one pair. I used to use them for a quick walk down my driveway to get my mail. But I haven't worn them in years. I'm prone to plantar fasciitis and have learned to only wear sturdy supportive shoes.

I don’t wear mine to do any shopping errands anymore. Sometimes they go for a walk across the street to the mailbox. But not nearly as often as I used to, but I still have a soft spot for a good broken in pair

I can't let this topic go by without reminding the younger generations that flip-flops are the original THONGS...yes, we called them thongs when I was a kid!
I grew up calling them thongs too! It switched to flip flops in my teen years. I've had many pairs of flip flops over the years, but I don't think I have any currently.

it's fairly aussie to live in thongs (sorry, can't think of them as flip flops - that to me conjures my son walking thru the house when he was like 4 or 5y.o in flippers when he was impatient to go swimming)
i'm not good at barefeet or just socks and i wear a cheap pair of thongs in the shower (i don't care how minimally people recommend packing for travel, a pair of thongs is a non-negotiable for me), but otherwise i'm all about arch-support thongs these days, i used to swear by Vionics brand but now i live in Archies in summer

Bonus fun fact: on Australia Day, as it is controversially called these days given Aust was already inhabited, it is quite common for community gatherings to have Thong Toss competitions (it's how it sounds, whoever flings a thong the furthest is the winner - it's a lot less risk than javelin or shotput!)
