Hello & welcome to the February style challenge! Last month surely got you in the scrapping groove so I know you are ready to take on a whole new set of challenges! This month's style challenge is a style that I am particularly fond of - the monochromatic page. I really love this look and it is quite simple to accomplish...simply pick one color and then use various shades and tints of that color in your page. In simple terms, shades are when black is added to make the color darker and tint is when white is added to make the color lighter. The result is a cohesive, coordinated page that lets the photo(s) and journaling shine. A good tip is to select a color that coordinates with your photo, or make your photo black & white so you can use any color that catches your eye. Here is my page: So for this challenge: Pick one color and create a monochromatic layout. Please remember the monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a guest spot on the Lilypad Creative Team! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges). I hope you have fun with this and I can't wait to see your layouts!
not gonna lie, Monochromatic is HARD for me, lol, I like my contrast, so I used some white, hope that is OK.
@lcpereyra please let me know if this is ok.. I went with gray/gray blue tones for my monochromatic. Please advise if the darkness of the bottom of the photo/sketch is a problem.. I don't think so since photos reflected have other colors.. I just want to make sure this is ok and works with the guidelines... Thanks!!
Photo of my husband, daughter, and granddaughter when we were in Las Vegas a few years ago. I blended papers together and used a Gold style to try to keep this monochromatic. Credits: After the Rain TLP Collab
