This challenge turned out to be more challenging than I thought it would be at first glance. I started to just give up because I had trouble figuring out coloring and style of the flowers - which is what inspired me. I am glad I stuck with it because I really like the results and I learned a thing or two too. Thank you @weaselwatchr for the challenge.
This is the book cover that took me on a journey.

When I saw this book cover, I knew it was what I wanted to do -- had a heck of a time trying to figure out how to make the "holes" though. I ended up making multiple layers of the grungy paper and merging them together, then I just used the magic wand to select a few of the rough areas and removed them.
