Hello friends! Welcome to the first installment of the monthly challenges for 2016! Glad to see old faces, and we welcome our new friends! I'm here with this month's inspiration challenge. I was actually watching TV one evening a few weeks back, and a commercial came on that featured Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World." And I thought to myself "I bet everyone has a different reason why this is a wonderful world." So that's your challenge for this month - scrap something that's wonderful to you. Your page must include the phrase "What a Wonderful World." You can add additional lyrics from the song, or you can add your own journaling, but you must have at least the words "What a Wonderful World" on your page. Here's my take: Please remember the monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a guest spot on the Lilypad Creative Team! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges). I can't wait to see how this song inspires you!
here's mine -yes we have skin that burns thinking about the sun and it's Australia so this is how we beach (plus plenty of sunscreen) but it's small price to pay
Every time I hear that song I always think of Disney for some reason. I used the inspiration to create the cover page for our April 2010 trip to Walt Disney World. It is definitely a wonderful world. Great challenge thank you!
I think I'm in love with blending background papers. I also used the technique from MOC4 of filling paint with a photo.
I love this song- it brings back so many memories for me- of my favorite summer camp. I looked thru my old folders from camp and found the sheet music, so I scanned that, a copy of the daily schedule from camp, and a group photo. I can't recall which year exactly we sang What A Wonderful World, but the schedule is from 1989 and the photo is from 1991.
