Oh my i caught this program on tv and its about people using coupons to do there shopping in the usa, here we are limited to what you can use and if the item is already discounted they wont let you use the coupon but these people was buying like $600 of grocerys for like $6 after all the coupons are taken off,is this for real how does the shop not go bust ?

I can't speak for other states/cities, but it's not possible here. Most of our store that will double coupons only accept one per trip. So yes, I can still save when I have the right coupons, but not like on that show.

I watched a little bit last night too! I tried to get into the couponing thing and just couldn't do it. Took SO much time and effort! I WISH I could do what those ladies do. How cool would it be to have a stockpile of stuff and get most of it for free!

I think you really can save like that, but stores don't really lose money on it because there's not THAT many people who do it. For those people it's seriously like a full-time job to collect and combine all the coupons to save that much, and most of us would rather just have a real full time job and pay like normal people, LOL.

We don't have doubling in our state, and now coupons from manufacturers that come in our newspaper are getting more specific about how many coupons you can use in one trip because of that show.

I think it is crazy the things people will buy just because they have the coupon and then take up so much space storing it. I use coupons sometimes, but only the ones that are for things we regularly use. I think, one time at Target, I saved $91 with coupons because I accidentally hit things just right and got two for one or something. But it is not typical.

I saved $30+ tonight at Target, but I agree with most the other gals - our state doesn't double coupons, and rules have gotten more strict, so that show definitely shows the EXTREME! I use coupons on things I buy regularly as well - for a while I was really into couponing and I found that I actually seemed to spend more just because I'd buy things I didn't really need because they were "cheap".

We don't have any stores here near me that do the double coupons. I'm not sure if it's just here, or the whole state.

I don't get the paper, so I don't get coupons. I just don't have time either. I shop at a few stores...Costco (they have a coupon book sent once a month to my home and I'll use a few of those), Trader Joes (no coupons) and Winco (all low prices...I'm sure they accept coupons though...but too much work for me).

All three of these stores don't even have sales. It's the same price every day. I like it like that!

Some of those chicks are crazy! My niece-in-law is a couponer and she does find alot of good deals but I don't think its to that extreme. I just can't see what I'd do or where I'd put 400 tubes of toothpaste.

The stores don't lose money, because the coupon manufacturer reimburses them for the face value of the coupon.

But mostly, that extreme couponing is just a form of hoarding. You truly do not need 60 containers of mustard.

I do.
