The sketch is done using just filters in PS/PSE so I hope you enjoy the videos and have fun experimenting and playing [These filters are the same in all versions of PS/PSE.] PS: PSE: Here is the page I made doing a quick pencil sketch in both PS & PSE.
Thank you Christa for another tutorial ... I've just watched and tried it ... not in a layout ... but only on a photo ... I learned something new ... I have a little question about the cloud rendering ... when you take a 12 x 12 on 300 dpi ... I don't like the result of the cloud rendering ... not even after 2 or 3 times rendering ... you can change somewhere the amount / type of clouds I tried with difference clouds but the result is to busy for me ... even after 4 or 5 times gaussian blur ...
I will check that later for you and report back with a larger workspace .. I am on phone right now but will get back to you.. glad you learned something new I know you can’t change the cloud formation but I will try and it larger.. sometimes I add a slight noise (monotone) which helps too.. I will be back !
Marijke I suggest the gaussian blur be done at like 135% or so ... the colors should not be real dark and one shoud be lighter than the other for a better effect. The second screenshot is where I added a slight noise to it with the setting I used... these are 12X12 and I looked and there is no sizing on the clouds so you can keep redoing, but I suggest the lighter color as the foreground and the darker shade as background. Hope this helps
Not only an excellent tutorial, but you are a compelling teacher...very calm and soothing...no stumbling and bumbling around! Thank you. I especially enjoyed the part about making my own texture. I take so many texture photos, and rarely use them. This looks like an easy way to do so.
