Nope,Only use them if a challenge calls for it, in fact when I buy kits that contains an Alpha,I rarely even unzip it. Love fonts though,I am addicted to those..

This is one of my favourites, especially if I need to lay the alpha overtop photos - Glacial Glass by Allison Pennington:

I don't use alphas anymore. IMO too much work. I end up using brushes or combine wordart/word strips with either font or brushes.

I love the ones that usually come with kits or match, so I'll use those mostly. Plus, I tend to use pre-made word art. :) That's my favorite way to title up a layout!

This is a fav of the painty ones...

I also love the realistic ones we have in the shop!

I buy them and love looking at them, but I find that I rarely use them. I buy a lot of CU fonts. I use them with styles more often than not.

I hate alphas that come in a sheet. I immediately delete them (unless I really love it, which is rare). I only keep alphas that are individual PNGs.

I love alphas and use them almost every time I make a title. (I don't feel every page needs a title.)
I think Amie and I have similar taste in alphas because she showed a couple of my favorites.
I agree with Margaret that alphas left in sheet form are very annoying. Though I do use them sometimes if I like them a lot.
Whether a kit has an alpha has occasionally determined whether I'll buy it.

I am alpha-challenged. Only when reminded do I use them and most of the time, my attempts at creativity with them look awkward.

I don't use alphas a lot. I rarely put a title on page and I almost never had an idea for a good one. The few times I can remember using alphas, these are my favorite:

That's me totally! If it's not word art, I'll use a font. Alphas-paper scrapping to me and I never did that and don't plan to.

Oh gosh I just love alphas. I used to hate them because it took me too long to spell out a title, but not I'm a bit faster at it and I just love to use them! I even added several to my wishlist from this thread! :)

I love them, will happily use wordart too, even (shock/gasp) sometimes go title-less.
However if the alpha is on a alpha sheet - I just won't use it.
Life's too short to ctrl-j alphas.

I love alphas as long as they are individual png. files. I will throw away a sheet of alphas. Years ago when I started using PSE, the first action that I bought was Anna Forrest's Title Builder. I'm pretty sure that I use it every layout that I make.

I am just the same — for some reason I don’t like the way they look when I use them ,even though I love them in theory. I am getting some good ideas from everyone’s layouts on this thread though. Maybe I need to dig into my alpha stash this weekend! And maybe one of the lovely Pollys would like to do a Why it Works alpha edition ;)!

I love fonts. I love alphas. Mainly because I love titles! It's rare for me to not have a title on a page.
