I had fun playing with the new BYOC products and created two pages in my A5-album. When I saw the snow globe in Rachel Etrogs kit I knew I wanted to try to make a shaker page, but since I couldn’t find my sequins I punched out dots from a piece of paper with silver washi on. I then sewed a piece of plastic on top of the snow globe and placed the silver dots in it. For the left side I used one of Lynne-Marie’s new Big Bold Banner templates as a foundation. I love using digital templates for my hybrid pages.

For the other page, it started with the beautiful artsy bits with winter berries from Joulukku Kit by Pixel Giraffe Design and to balance that, I printed the fun stamps and tore them out and glued them down loosely on the page to create texture. Love the winter theme of this page.

I saw someone make these origami Christmas trees on Insta and had to give it a try. Folding paper is a relaxing way to quiet your mind for a bit. Definitely needed this time of year!

Oh I need this in my life!! Off to hunt for a pattern! If you have a good one to share, I’d love to try this too!

I followed the video directions here:

Basically for each tree, you need 3 sets of 6 squares to start with (so 6 paper squares for each level of the tree). My first was 6 x 5.5"; 6 x 4.5" and 6x3.5". The second tree I just did 5", 4" and 3". Then just fold according to the directions. I haven't glued mine at all but I might to make it a little more stable.

Thank you @dawnmarch for the video! I had today off work and I made a tree! I actually went to Hobby Lobby and Home Goods today looking for one more small green tree for my Christmas tree collection and couldn't find one. Then I remembered this and said... well, I guess I'm making a green tree! :giggle Holy cow did a TON of toner come off the paper on my fingers while I was folding, but I kinda love that it made the tree look distressed, like I meant to do that. Lol.

And I love your pretty tree!

Love those trees! Thanks for sharing the video @dawnmarch . I've already got my squares printed so I can start folding later today.
Can wait to see your trees! I found that using thinner paper (rather than thick cardstock) was easier -- and it let me fold two squares at a time.

@Annsofie @frutselke @Karen @ajm @theresa moxley @mocamom Tagging some of my favorite hybrid artists on this thread and in general.

So that your gorgeous work can be found, please be sure to TAG your hybrid projects with the "Hybrid Projects" tag when you upload them to the gallery. You can even go back and add tags after uploading -- look for the little tag symbol under the name of your layout title. Click on that and you can add tags after the fact! I love to go to the Gallery and "Browse by Tag" (see the bottom of the menu to the left of the gallery) and I'm sad that a lot of hybrid projects are not getting tagged.

:doh34 I hadn't even thought to tag for hybrid and my whole DYD project is hybrid. Lol. Thanks for the reminder! I'm gonna go add tags to those pages. :agree

What if my hybrid journal page also include a hybrid project. Do I double tag?!? :rofl
