Hey scrappers! I was reviewing some documentation on my scrapping processes and came away with a question. For context - I scrap a page and am ready to save. I want to save multiple formats - Save for Web (its own action), Save for Blog (its own action), Save for Print (its own action), and finally, Save the PSD (save as). Question - Does anyone know if I can string these actions together into a workflow of sorts? So I "hit go" once and it does it all?
I don't consider myself a power user, so there are probably other ways to do this. But my first thought is you could create a new action where you run the other actions in order. Then you could run the one action and it would perform all the functions.
Thanks @LadyPatsFan! That's what I was coming up with too - I'll give it a go and see how it turns out!
Yup, I was thinking that maybe you need to have a multi-action action. Or rather, create ONE action but it includes all of the different "Save As" items you need. My issue would be making sure everything was named correctly. Or you could look into Image Processor or Droplet. I don't know a ton about these options, so here is a link to Adobe's page about them. Image Processor can be used to resize things; however, I think you'd need to do more than just click "Image Processor" lol, so it probably isn't time-saving.
I think the image processor pro is that what you need. Just google it and you’ll find the download page. Nicole | NBK-Design
This is exactly what I do. I recorded an action and saved it to F2. I run it and: 1st: saves psd (just in case!) 2nd: saves print size (12x12) 3rd: runs a different action that saves for web.
Anyone up for recording a tutorial for me, @Kat, and @LoveItScrapIt?? Maybe this would be a good blog post topic? What'cha think about that @bestcee?
You are cute that you think I blog! @busywoman139 But for you? and @Kat ? and @LoveItScrapIt Sure! I'll record myself doing it. I should be able to do it in the next day or two.
I'm just getting around to actually getting this done and revisited this thread...@bestcee did you end up recording your process?
btw, I have a free action that does all this...saves the .psd, saves a full resolution 12x12 3600 .jpeg, and also saves a 3rd 72 dpi600/700 .jpeg. The last one is not gallery ready but I do that one at 700 and then 'resize for web'. There are options for smaller sizes but I've never used those because they never seemed to be the right visual size for a gallery. Probably user error .Google 'speedscraps' scripts to see the other free actions. Christy gives them away. The options are shown below. btw, this action will override a previous save - as in the times you have to go back and edit your page once you see it up in the gallery! not that this happens to anyone else! bwahahaha I love not having to rename files ...version 1 , version2 etc.
@bestcee One day I will try that out. Do you know how to add an image like the one I show in the post above to an action or is that beyond me... probably!
@bestcee thank you!!! You're the best @cookingmylife thanks for your tips also! I'll definitely check out what scripts are out there.
