I do love the walking but you don't get the "runner's high" and to me I just feel like I got a SUPER work out as opposed to a good one. It would be nice to get a walker's high though!
Well that's what the Couch to 5k program is for, silly. But it's cooler it you're all on the same day and can check in with each other!
I am still nursing a broken foot, but since i have not been able to run in 14 weeks, I will need to start over again. So count me in (as long as my foot is healed enough to start).
well i already walk 5k per day so, i'll try running 1 k per day until i reach the 5. when do we start??
NOW! LOL I'm just getting ready to do my run for today... I had to take a week off - I was having asthma type issues and some pain in my left hip. All rested... breathing clear... hip feels good. Getting on my dreadmill.
Now is good. Week 1 Day 1 is run for 60 seconds, walk for 60 seconds. Or, if you're doing it for distance, I have them go 100 yards run, 100 yards walk. (Side note, I always make them do distance. It's harder, but at the end of Couch to 5k, I want them running 5k. Not 30 minutes.) Run embarrassingly slow! If you can't finish the 100 yards/60 seconds, you're going too fast! Do we want to have an official start date? This week? Next week? What?
I tried a few months back and I nearly died...Angie gave me some tips but right now I just haven't got the right shoes to get out there (the one's i bought at a running store hurt so bad) and no money to buy new ones right now. I think I'm going to work with some exercise games/videos over the winter and maybe once spring hits I can get some good running shoes (from a different store!) and try again.
